to allow you to migrate to the European Direct Debit scheme in a business-asusual manner – avoiding the costs and disruption of adapting or replacing your
current systems and procedures.

New mandates will be created and
processed on an on-going basis.
Mandates must contain information
on your customer and the name, the
address and the bank details from
you as the debtor. Once signed, this
authorization may be scanned and
converted into an electronic format;
the information must be stored and a
picture can be made of the mandate for
the archive.

Switching to the European Direct
Debit Scheme requires a conversion
and extension of the current data in
mandates.
Countries across Europe currently use
different types of mandates containing
different information. Although in many
countries the decision has been made
that current mandates will remain
valid for the European Direct Debit, the
transition to this new scheme requires
a change and an extension of current
data. Certain information needs to be
added to make the mandate suitable
for the European Direct Debit Scheme.
Furthermore, the collection process for
this new scheme and the management
of the mandates are different than in
current practice.

Your current financial systems may
not be able to store or process all
information required by the European
direct debit scheme. To overcome this
problem, we accept data in legacy
format and convert it to European
direct debit standard. You will receive
information about failed items in its
original format.
