At the Corvallis meet in May, Lauren turned in 4 lifetime best times. She has been turning in practice performances which point to some great swimming ahead! Jordan Hernandez DD / Gold/Sen1-Bobby Daniel Wong Daniel is quietly becoming a tremendous swimmer. He has a great ability to find another level of competitiveness when the moment needs it. He continues to excel in breaststroke and his other strokes are vastly improving every day. Reynolds/Red- Mollie Jordan is Swimmer Of the Month for June because while he has been to every practice and working hard at every practice for I think 6 weeks running. I think Jordan has more fun than anyone else at swim practice. He is smiling every time I look at him, which is a delight and brightens the atmosphere of the whole pool! Jordan’s in pool work ethic has improved due to his habitual attendance. He is much more attentive and willing to try new drills which inspires his teammates to do the same. It has been a blast to watch Jordan learn to become a leader – even if he is resisting. When Jordan is focused, he is one of the fastest in the pool! When I challenge him to race his team mates – he loves to compete!! Keep up the great work Jordan!! Alan Luu Alan is a silent leader at Reynolds. He is focused, listens to explanations and sets the bar high for his teammates in the water too! I NEVER have to tell Alan to stop walking on the bottom. Leading by example is passive but effective and I can tell his example has contributed to the maturity of the swimmers around him Alan is also a great friend in practice. He is considerate to his teammates and understands lane etiquette so that the others in his lane are able to do their best. I am eager to see the progress that Alan makes especially as he increases his attendance to 5 days a week! DD / Red-Bobby Lindsey Chen Lindsey is a technician to the art of swimming. She has great focus on her body position and her every movement when she is in the water. I am very excited for the next phase in her swimming which will involve her embracing the competition of the sport. June MHAC/Sen 1-Juan Abbie Yin Abbie took some time off from swimming last year and decided to jump back on board last Fall. She was worried about having been out of the water for a year, however she was determined to commit herself to the group and to the training and it has really paid off! What sets Abbie apart from others is her "can do" attitude. Abbie doesn't back away from a challenge and is one of the most coachable swimmers I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Her hard work has paid off and she has now qualified the 50 and 100 free for the state championships later this summer! Nice job Abbie! MHAC/Sen 1-Juan Mara Tapasa Mara came to our club recently from the Mavericks and has made a positive impact on the group already! She pushes herself in every practice and in doing that she pushes everyone around her to swim faster in practice. She had the best attendance over the gold squad last month and is on route to becoming a great swimmer! Keep it up Mara! Barlow – Jody Sophia Davis Congratulations to Sophia Davis, the Barlow Swimmer of the Month! Sophia has been working very hard in practice to improve her breaststroke, and was a heat winner in her Breaststroke event at the June Inter Squad meet! She always has a great smile & an awesome attitude - way to go, Sophia!
