This week we are learning about our 5 senses and fire safety. The Ponder Fire Department will visit us! We will conduct
several science experiments! Each child will make a Five Senses Science Notebook. We will make a variety of science
notebooks this year. Reading and Math Workshops will focus on following a sequence of directions to complete a task,
sorting, and numbers 0-10. We are writing more as we become more confident about our letter sounds. This is very
exciting! Encourage your child to write the sounds he/she hears. Conventional spelling will happen gradually. Your praise
and encouragement will help build confidence. The children always enjoy these activities!

New Words
Thank you all for supporting our class-through raffle
donations, sales, and volunteering. The Festival is going to be
lots of fun. Our booths will be among the others next to the
football stadium and on the parking lot. Our booths will be
side by side and are called Sandy Candy and Pick a Pumpkin.
If you are a volunteer, I have attached your 30 minute working
time to this newsletter. We have collected $120.00 to pay
towards our grill. Mr. Allen and I will pick the grill up this
week. It will be on display in the cafeteria during the festival.
The drawing will be at 8:30PM on Saturday. Winners do not
have to be present.

Smelly Bag Homework:
On Thursday, your child will bring home a paper bag and baggie.
