Description:
Enhancement to the output of ticketing code and ticket designator in fare quote
and shopping responses.
Impact Summary:
Passenger discount-type ticket designators (e.g. IN00, CH25, CD10, etc.) may
be output as a ticketing code appended to the fare basis code, or may not be
output at all, depending on the rule data filed in ATPCO/SITA categories 19-22.
Impact to Airline vendors will need to be evaluated by each airline. Ticketing
Codes and Ticket designators will be processed and appended to Fare Basis
Codes as filed by the airlines and per ATPCO industry Data Applications.
Internal logic to automatically append ticket designators even if data is not filed
to append will be removed therefore airline vendors will need to ensure their
data filings reflect their intent.

Overview
Currently, when a fare quote involves a passenger type discount filed in ATPCO/SITA Automated Rules
categories 19-22, Travelport’s FareSource and e-Pricing™ systems append a ticket designator composed
of a two letter passenger code and the discount percent, e.g. CH25 to indicate a children’s discount of 25
percent off the adult fare. This is done regardless of the ticketing code and/or ticket designator data filed
in Category 19-22 of the rule and may not always reflect the filing airline vendor’s intent.
With this enhancement, current internal FareSource and e-Pricing™ code to programmatically create and
append ticket designators to fares created from Categories 19-22 will be discontinued, and ticketing code,
ticket designator, and discount information will be output according to the ATPCO/SITA filed data.
Changes will be applicable to Fare Pricing and Shopping.
When fares are created from Categories 19-22 and multiple ticketing codes and/or ticket designators exist
in Record 1, Categories 19-22, Category 25 – Fare by Rule and Category 35 – Negotiated Fares (ticket
designator only), ticketing codes ticket and/or designators for the fares created will be processed per
ATPCO/SITA ticket designator hierarchy. (See the Detail and Customer Examples section below for an
explanation of the hierarchy.)
No change is being made to how passenger discounts themselves are being applied.
No change is being made to the output formatting of fare basis codes, ticketing codes, and ticket
designators which are truncated in the fare quote and shopping responses.
Changes to Travelport Rapid Reprice™ are not required to reissue tickets originally issued utilizing
ticketing code and ticket designator hierarchy processing. However, to ensure correct application of all
applicable discounts during the reissue process, carriers should file Category19-22 ticketing codes
instead of Category 19-22 ticket designators.
Customer Benefit

Airline and agency customers can take advantage of the automated rule data filed in ATPCO/SITA
Categories 19-22, Category 35, and Record 1.
Detail and Customer Examples
Airline vendors can choose to file ticketing code and ticket designator data associated with passenger
discounts in several ways:

ticketing code with or without a discount percentage
e.g. YABCCD or YABCCD10 (where YABC is the fare basis code)

ticket designator with or without a discount percentage
e.g. YABC/CH or YABC/CH25 (where YABC is the fare basis code)

ticketing code and ticket designator, either of which may or may not include the discount percentage
e.g. YABCCH/CH25 or YABCCH25/ABC123 (where YABC is the fare basis code)
Pricing and shopping requests will return the ticketing code and/or ticket designator as filed in ATPCO
Rule Categories 19-22.

Ticketing code / Ticket Designator Hierarchy
The presence of any ticketing code/ticket designator data at one level overrides the data at the previous
level.
Base Fare
Base Fare Ticketing Code and/or Ticket Designator are determined based on
data in the Base Fare Record 1 and Base Fare Category 19-22 – Discounts
(when the Base Fare is discounted via Category 19-22).
Category 25
Ticketing Code and/or Ticket Designator data filed in Category 25 – Fare by
Rule overrides any Base Fare Ticketing Code and/or Ticket Designator.
Categories 19-22
Ticketing Code and/or Ticket Designator data filed in Category 19-22 –
Discounts overrides any Base Fare Ticketing Code and/or Ticket Designator
Category 35
Ticketing Codes cannot be filed in Category 35, however, the presence of any
Ticketed Fare Data in Category 35 – Negotiated Fares overrides any Category
25, Category 19-22, and Base fare Record 1 Ticketing Code and/or Ticket
Designator.
Agent Assist Pricing / Custom Discount Pricing - Best Practices
“Best Practices” For Category 19-22 Discounts Processing
The “Best Practice Approach” for use of Agent Assist Pricing and Custom Discount Pricing with rule
override option #NRX for 360Fares makes it no longer necessary to include the additional ticket code,
ticket designator and cat 19 filed percentage of discount. This information will be processed from the
category 19 filing and applied to the resulting fare automatically. Also when a PTC is filed with a
percentage discount this percentage no longer needs to be input into the custom discount entry unless
you want to take an additional discount over what the applicable discount in the fare indicates is allowed.
The ticketing fax line of “TKG FAX-MANUALLY PRICED” will be displayed in the PNR when the no rules
option is used on 360Fares and the ticket will show FCPI 1 (not auto priced).
