When George attended school he excelled in math. He completed his education by the time he was fifteen years old. When he finished school, he wanted to join the British Navy, but his mother wouldn’t allow it. staple/glue George’s father died when he was eleven years old. Soon after, he started using his father’s surveying tools. He liked surveying and used the tools to measure everything from forests to fields. He accepted, but refused to take any payment for his services. The war lasted eight years. When the colonies won and the war ended, George Washington was a hero.
