UNK Intramurals Mud Tug Rules General - Brackets will be determined by a random drawing. There will be a CoRec, Men’s and Women’s division. Participants will be permitted to compete on one (1) gender specific and one (1) CoRec team. CoRec teams will consist at least four (4) members and no more than six (6). At any time there may be no more than one (1) more participant of either gender on a team. Gender Specific teams will consist of at least four (4) members and no more than five (6). Closed-toed shoes must be worn when participating in the mud tug. No sandals, cleats, crocs, or anything else deemed inappropriate footwear by the Campus Recreation Staff. Consider that your shoe may be pulled off by the mud, please lace them tightly and consider taping them on! The Tug! - - Officials reserve the right to call a timeout should they deem it necessary. Participating teams are not permitted a time-out. Teams will determine which side of the rope they want with a coin toss. Both feet of each participant must begin from a position within the mud. A winner win be determined by the following circumstances: o If a team is able to pull the center of the rope past their victory line. o Should after thirty seconds (30) a team is able to have the center of the rope on their side of the mud pit. Victory lines will be marked three (3) feet from the center line. Participants may not run to either side of the mud and use the grass for leverage during the competition. 1st Offense: Warning. 2nd Offense: Loss of Match For safety reason you may not wrap the rope around any part of your body. 1st Offense: Warning. 2nd Offense: Loss of Match Officials Commands 1) “Pick Up Your Rope” Each team will pick up their rope on the side they will be pulling. 2) “Get Ready” Each team will pull the rope taunt as the official centers the rope on the playing field. 3) “Pull” This signals the beginning of the match.
