1. Measure the length of each of the following with each of the measuring devices given on the
table.
a. The mirror is over by the grades wall and the back countertop, measure from end to end.
b. After you have measured each object in millimeters, centimeters, and meters. Pick which unit
you think is best for measuring each object.

QUESTIONS:
1. What did you notice about the measurement of your lab table in meters, centimeters, and
millimeters?
2. Were there any measurements that you were uncertain about and had to estimate? For
example when you measured the iPad in meters. What did you do, to come up with your
measurement?
3. Can you measure any object with meters, centimeters, and millimeters?
4. From question 3, does that mean it is right to measure any object in meters, centimeters, or
millimeters?
5. Did all groups pick the same measurement unit for each object? Is it important that groups
pick the same unit to measure with?
6. If the distance was 6,600 meters from one city to another city. How far would it be in km?
Which unit do you think is better to state the difference?
7. If an object measures 36 cm on a meter stick how long is it in millimeters?
8. From question 7, how long is the object in meters?
