Flip Chart Requirements
Students will be required to maintain their flip charts at all times. The following criteria will be
used to create and maintain flip charts.
Required Materials
100-150
3x5 Index cards
1-2 rolls of Scotch tape (generic doesn’t work as well)

Flip Charts
o Each flip chart should be color coded by chapter.
o There should be an index of the chapters on the front of the flip chart with the
chapter number, description of the chapter, and chapter color.
o Mrs. Thomson will tell you which things are required to be put in the flip chart.
 Use the chart on the back of this page to keep up with the cards required
for each day, section, and chapter.

Cards
o Every card should be color coded on the bottom strip showing.
o Every card should be labeled with a description of what is on the card. This
should go in the color coded strip at the bottom of the card.
o The front of the card should have the definition, steps, procedures, etc.
o The back of the card should have an example.
o All required items must be on a card.
o You may choose to put additional optional cards if necessary.

Grades
o Neatness
 Printed nicely
 Put together well
o Completeness
 All required cards present
 Index present
 Index up to date
 Cards color coded
o Accuracy
 Cards have correct information
 Cards have examples
Note: Do not wait until I want to take up flip charts to complete your cards. You should do
cards as you get the information. These charts are to help you review the material for class,
quizzes, and test, including the exam.
Flip charts will be due and taken up the day of each test.
