Get ready for a Spanish Immersion Summer Camp at
The Harvest School! Summer Campers will be exposed
to the Spanish Language not only by studying it, but by
also living it!
Morning instructional time will be taught in Spanish. Speaking Spanish during that time will
be highly encouraged, hence creating a Spanish-speaking environment. The primary objective
stems toward integrating language and content by using well seasoned native
Spanish teachers.
How will the children understand what to do??
Teachers will use hand and facial expressions to illustrate what they
mean. Songs, activities, and stories will be used to help build the students
vocabulary in understanding Spanish.
Traditionally in second language instruction the target language is the subject
itself. However in Spanish Immersion programs the target second language is
used as an means of communication.
The Summer Campers will:
 Achieve competency in a Spanish
 Gain understanding and appreciation of other cultures
In addition, students will also have enrichment- filled
afternoons of reading, writing, and math!
