MISSION OF THE AMERICAN FRIENDS OF THE SALZBURG EASTER FESTIVAL
PATRONAGE FOR 2016
I WISH TO BECOME A(N):
American Friends of the Salzburg Easter Festival was established in 2000 to encourage support for and attendance at the Easter Festival. Our membership was always comprised of music lovers from both North and South America. Since then, we have welcomed any and all who wish to affiliate themselves with us to become members.
The patronage system, established in 1967 by Herbert von Karajan, is included in the American Friends structure. The patron fee of $ 1,000 paid to our organization permits the donor to the same rights as those patrons who pay the fee in Salzburg in Euros. However, in addition to the fee, American Friends seeks to expand appreciation and camaraderie through lectures, dinners and special events in Salzburg and in New York.
Funds raised by American Friends, over and above the patron fees, are used to support specific programmatic components selected by the Board of American Friends in discussion with the management and the Music Director. These include but are not limited to the support for American artists, directors, designers and the like during the Festival.
Since public funding in Salzburg has not increased and is currently only 8% of the operating budget, and since the costs of all cultural projects world‐wide have grown exponentially, the fundraising capability of our organization becomes ever more important. We are proud of our record of support and equally proud of our oversight of our grants and activities.
We welcome increased membership and, of course, increased generosity to allow this outstanding Festival to maintain its position as one of the brightest jewels in the world of music!
To facilitate our fundraising activities, the American Friends Association has been granted status as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions are deductible to the extent provided by law.
EASTER ANGEL of the American Friends. By making a contribution of $25,000, you receive all the benefits of a Sponsor plus your additional donation includes the Patron´s fee for two (previously billed separately), two invitations to the dinner during the Easter Festival in Salzburg, and a special acknowledgement in the Easter Festival program book.
SPONSOR of the American Friends. By making a contribution of $12,500, you receive all the benefits of a Golden Patron plus your additional donation includes the Patron´s fee for two (previously billed separately), two invitations to the dinner during the Easter Festival in Salzburg, and a listing on the special page reserved for the AFSEF in the Easter Festival program book.
 GOLDEN PATRON of the American Friends. By making a contribution of $5,000, you receive all the benefits of a Patron plus your additional donation includes the Patron´s fee for two (previously billed separately), two invitations to
the dinner during the Easter Festival in Salzburg, and a listing on the special page reserved for the AFSEF in the Easter Festival program book.
 SILVER PATRON of the American Friends. By making a contribution of $ 2.500, you receive all the benefits of a Patron plus your additional donation includes the Patron´s fee for two (previously billed separately), two invitations to
the dinner during the Easter Festival in Salzburg, and a listing on the special page reserved for the AFSEF in the Easter Festival program book.
 PATRON of the American Friends. By making a contribution of $ 1.000 per person, per seat, per cycle, you can attend the Salzburg Easter Festival every year, your ticket orders are guaranteed. You will be invited to participate in special events, dinners, lectures or gatherings arranged by the American Friends at other times of the year, and attend the introductory lectures before each opera performance during the Easter Festival. The lectures are in English, which are offered exclusively by the American Friends for its members and guests. Throughout the festival you will be invited to visit galleries, antique fairs and a variety of events. You will receive regular newsletters providing you with important and topical information about the Easter Festival and the American Friends. Patrons receive a free CD.
