Parishioners have been assigned every hour
as a worshipper to Jesus in the Eucharist.
All are welcome! The Eucharistic Adoration takes
place in the Our Lady of Divine Vocations Chapel.

BAPTISM (in English):
Parents wishing to have their child baptized are asked to make
an appointment with the Parish Administrator. Please bring
the child’s birth certificate. Baptisms in English are on
Saturdays at 11:00 AM.
CONFESSIONS:
Confessions are heard before each of the Masses on Sunday:
8:30 to 8:55 AM, 10:00 to 10:25 AM (in Spanish),
and 11:30 to 11:55 AM, or by appointment in the rectory.
MARRIAGE:
Please make arrangements with a priest at least six months

ARISE Comes to Our Lady of Solace!
Shrine Church of Our Lady of Solace will be offering the
ARISE Together in Christ program this fall. We look
forward to sharing the Word of God in a way that
encourages faith and life.
Groups will be available in English, Spanish, and Creole.
Sign-Up Sunday will be September 18, 2016 and
sessions will start in October 2016.

ARISE Together in Christ: What is this Process?
ARISE Together in Christ is a three-year, parish-centered process of evangelization and spiritual renewal that enables people to develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in
service to others.
Goals of the ARISE process:
How do families and youth get involved?
 Sharing and witnessing to the Word of God in Sacred Scripture
 Developing vibrant communities of faith and service
 Forging deeper relationships among parishioners and across diverse
Marriage and family life is strengthened as participants share in
groups, attend liturgies and gatherings, and use the
intergenerational Family Sharing Pages and ARISE for youth
materials on ARISE weekly themes.
 Providing a concrete and practical means of evangelization
What is the role of the parish priest
in the ARISE process?

by ARISE look like?
The spiritual path laid out by the ARISE process begins with a
period of formation for diocesan and parish leaders. The process
then guides the participants through five distinct periods of time
(called Seasons) each of which lasts six weeks. Each Season
engages the entire parish in a basic Gospel theme:
 Season I Fall Encountering Christ Today
 Season II Lent Change Our Hearts
 Season III Fall In the Footsteps of Christ
 Season IV Lent New Heart, New Spirit
 Season V Fall We Are the Good News!
RENEW International provides comprehensive training for the
ARISE Diocesan Team, the ARISE Parish Team, and Small
Community Leaders. RENEW International staff provides ongoing
pastoral support and service for all phases of the process.
How do parishioners experience these Gospel
themes?
Parishioners experience these themes in several ways, primarily :
 Sunday Mass via homily hints and Prayers of the Faithful
 Small faith-sharing groups that meet in homes and other locations
throughout the parish during the course of the week
 Family and individual prayer
 Parish Mission
 Special workshops to help parishes become more responsive to young
adults
Who participates in the ARISE process?
The ARISE process provides spiritual formation for everybody in
the parish. The process uses a pastoral theology suited for parish life
today. There are materials appropriate for adults, families, young
adults, and youth that can be used in parishes and on campuses.
This process works under the spiritual leadership of the parish
priest. In collaboration with him, the practical implementation
of the ARISE process is carried out by parishioners who are
well trained for their roles.
How does the ARISE process call people
to Gospel action?
Each week of the ARISE process applies the spiritual standards
of Christ to all areas of life. It emphasizes people living in good
relationship with one another, as they make concrete
applications of the Gospel to their life situations.
The ARISE process challenges people not only to be of service
to the poor and needy, but also to address the underlying causes
of injustice.
ARISE includes special events and presentations on why and
how we should respond to the Word in acts of justice and works
of charity.
What happens after the five Seasons?
During the Seasons of the ARISE process, a style of parish life
is planned which nurtures the faith of the people and
strengthens the Church for the long term by developing small
faith-sharing groups into ongoing small Christian communities.
After the ARISE process, parishes continue in the areas of
catechesis, Scripture reflection, small Christian communities,
peace and justice initiatives, and liturgical appreciation.
To assist with this process of spiritual development, RENEW
International offers a variety of high-quality faith-sharing
materials. These may be utilized between the Seasons of the
ARISE process as well as after it.

Hablemos de LEVÁNTATE: ¿Cuál es el proceso?
LEVÁNTATE es el proceso pastoral por el cual RENEW International intenta proponer esta renovación espiritual. Lo hace en tres dimensiones básicas: renovación de estructuras diocesanas y parroquiales mediante la formación de comunidades eclesiales de base; proceso de maduración en la fe
basado en el estudio de la Biblia y en una adaptación del Rito de la Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos
(RICA); en el fortalecimiento de las relaciones humanas y personales en las comunidades parroquiales.
¿Cómo luce la jornada espiritual
que LEVÁNTATE ofrece?
Esto inicia con un periodo de formación para los líderes
diocesanos y parroquiales. Después estos son guiados a
través de un proceso de cinco tiempos diferentes llamados
Etapas, cada una con una duración de seis semanas, una
sesión semanal de 90 minutos. Cada Etapa compromete a la
parroquia entera a renovarse según los siguientes temas:
 Etapa I Otoño El encuentro con Cristo Hoy
 Etapa II Cuaresma Cambiemos el corazón
 Etapa III Otoño En las huellas de Cristo
 Etapa IV Cuaresma Un corazón nuevo, un espíritu nuevo
 Etapa V Otoño ¡Somos la Buena Nueva!
Estructuras necesarias para desarrollar LEVANTÁTE
Para lograr tal renovación, RENEW International provee un
entrenamiento sistemático para los equipos parroquiales.
Quienes a su vez actúan como comunidad modelo para las
que se han de formar en un futuro cercano a través de la
parroquia entera.
El rol del equipo de RENEW International
Nuestro equipo de RENEW International ofrece servicios
pastorales durante todas las fases del proceso de LEVÁNTATE
sobre todo al inicio, pero también al comenzar y al finalizar cada
una de las Etapas.
¿Cuál es el papel del párroco en LEVÁNTATE?
LEVANTÁTE trabaja bajo el liderazgo espiritual del
párroco, la implementación práctica del proceso de
LEVANTÁTE es llevada a cabo por los líderes parroquiales
entrenados para esas tareas.
¿De qué se trata LEVÁNTATE?
La originalidad del proceso de LEVÁNTATE radica en la
creación, fortalecimiento y continua formación de las
comunidades eclesiales de base y sus miembros. Estas se reúnen
bajo la guía del Espíritu Santo en torno al animador o
animadora, que está especialmente preparado/a para ello.
Juntos:
 oran,
 escuchan la proclamación de un texto bíblico escogido
específicamente para el tema que se trata,
 reflexionan y comparten haciendo cada uno de ellos la
conexión con su vida cotidiana,
 se comprometen a una acción pastoral, sea personal o
comunitaria, como consecuencia directa del compartir de la
fe que han tenido. Semanalmente van evaluando cómo se
hizo la acción y cómo afecta su vida.
Semana tras semana, las relaciones humanas se van formando y
consolidando; los miembros van adquiriendo mayor
responsabilidad y compromiso en la parroquia y en la iglesia
local, y también una mejor manera de vincular la fe que
profesan con su vida diaria.
¿Es LEVÁNTATE para las familias?
Por supuesto. Una familia puede constituirse en una comunidad
eclesial de base o juntarse con otra familia para formarla.
LEVÁNTATE ofrece a las familias una excelente oportunidad
para su crecimiento humano, cristiano y católico.
