Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning Rockland Community College Thursday, December 4 from 12:30 - 2:00 pm in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room Rockland Community College will hold its First Annual Celebration of RCC Authors on Thursday December 4 to showcase the accomplishments of our faculty authors. The following RCC faculty have become published authors within the past year. Suzanne Cleary, PhD, Professor of English, Beauty Mark -- a collection of poems using morsels of popular culture as a window into more transcendent issues. Martin J. Lecker, EdD, Professor of Business, Historical and Sociological Perspectives of Multiculturalism in American Business -- a collection of essays exploring multiculturalism in the business world from both historical and sociological points of view. Bob LeMoullec, Adjunct Instructor of Communication/Media Arts The Newsroom Confessions -- a non-fiction, coming of age story of sorts which takes the reader into real newsrooms...warts and all. David Lucander, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pluralism & Diversity, Winning the War for Democracy: The March on Washington Movement, 1941-1946 -- a look at the importance of the March on Washington Movement with special attention to the significance of its obscure grassroots leaders. Sara Macel, Adjunct Instructor of Art, May the Road Rise to Meet You -- provides a photographic monograph of the trips across the United States taken by her father, a traveling salesman. Marie Morreale, Adjunct Instructor of Occupational Therapy, The OTA's Guide to Documentation: Writing SOAP Notes, Third Edition -guides the occupational therapy assistant student through the legal, ethical and professional documentation standards of their field. Xi Shi, PhD, Professor of Library Science, James Sherrier, Professor Emeritus The Power of Belief, Value of Knowledge -- draws upon historical atrocities like the Holocaust, the Rape of Nanking Massacre and the Great Leap Forward, to establish a common thread among state sanctioned horrors, committed when dogmatic beliefs take precedence over knowledge. Each author will sign one copy of their book to be kept in the RCC Library Rockland Room. Join President Cliff L.
