Connie Mae, Mury, Della and Redrick was barn to Aunt Edna and Uncle
Redrick Augustus lGusl Young in the Goodland Tcwnship of Orangeburg
county, Marshall and Harris was born in Springfield, S.c. but I'm not
positive.
Connie, after the death of her mother, Aunt Edna, she married John tBub]
Tyndall, her cousin. she had been stricken at an early age with policmyelitis
prcducing paralysis and deformity in her left hip and leg. She was a very
delicately beautifi,rl person and a very refined person, and never aliowed
her handicap to interfere with her daily activities, Sbe lryas rlery special.

Della, spent most of her life in Bamberg County, as housewife, operating
their business establish on the outskirts of Bamberg, S.C. and ather
employment in various enterprises.
Redrick,, met his wife, Joan, while serving in the Merchant Marines during
World 1{ar Two, in London. He operated the Jo-Red Construction Co. and
operated the Dixie Oil & TacHe shop, in North Charleston, S.C.
Marshall, began his adult life in Bamberg, and as well. I believe had a stint
in the Merchant Marines, during World War Two. He was the rebel of the
famrly and I guess one of my closest friends growiag up together, we taking
chances in cur fanaticism, almost at times, ending our existence on this
Planet ear&. Where ever there was a dare, we were there. H.D. and Redrick
doing the darinS, and me and Mot, performing the aetion.
He, like his step brother, Clarence Buneh, and his father, uncle Gus had a
few skirmishes with the law, although nothing serious. Marshall, dabble in
selling moonshine, and in t947, his first wife, Brenez, filed a complaint
against him for non child support, as being an able bodied man capable of
earning and making a livelihood and without cause or excuse abandon and
fail to supply the actual necessaries of life for his wife and minor
unmarried children. Children names was: Jerry Dean, age 4years, Joseph
Harris, age a years, Johnnie Martin, age 8 months.
He went before the court of general sessions in Bamberg, and sentenced to
be confined. at hard labor in the public works of Bamberg for a term of one
year, or a like period in the state penitentiary, or pay a fine of $6oo.oo. If
he paid $ro.oo per week to the clerk of court, beginning in Sept l+Z tobe
transmitted to Mrs Young, the sentence would be suspended , and placed
on probation for 2 years, and if the fine is paid, $soo.oa was to be paid to,
Bernez, for the support of she and her three minor childrea.
Mot, lMarshall] moved to Nor& Charleston, $/as an excellent carpenter and
for awhile operated an Extermination Business. Later he was employed
\,yith Mims Amusement Business , and remained there until his death, with
a stroke and other complications.
Harris, I don't *rrow taa much about Harris after he grew up into
adulthood. After the War, he moved to Beaufort S,C. We visited there
times, he lived there until his death.

This is Uncle Gus,r89o /tgS6
married my Aunt Edna. I heard
my Dad speak many times,
Every one in the public's works
of Bamberg new my Uncle Gus.
He was sentence several times,
for violation of the Prohibition
Law. always being sentence from
8, to 12 years, hard labor in the
public works, serve a few months
and rest being suspended. It
seemed Aunt Edna was always
coming to see Papa to help in
getting Uncle Gus out of some
sort of trouble Aunt Edna and
Papa was very close, she was
kinda special to him. His other
sister, Aunt Vick, the next closest
to him, was bold, firm, and ran
things in her household. Aunt
Edna and Uncle Gus just seemed
like they couldn't settle down in
one place . I know 5 places they
moved within walking distance
of the Walker Place where we
lived, including on my fathers
farm, until they settled in
Bamberg. My Dad always felt guilty because he started Uncle Gus, in the
moonshine business. Aunt Vic, and uncle Shelt, when they returned from
Georgia, after E.J. was born, they moved across the river from us in a big
old house, and they remained there until their deaths. Aunt Edna sure
didn't like that house, said it was to big, when you talked you could hear an
echo. I remember aunt Edna and aunt Vick, more so than the others.
