LBPSB Summer Program 2017
The Summer Program curriculum will be based on the essential components of courses
offered during the regular school year. Students and parents should be aware that there is not
sufficient time to cover all course content during the Summer Program session. Important
topics will be reviewed and taught, but it will be the student’s responsibility to make sure
that they are properly prepared for the evaluations.

General Information
Courses
Please refer to the attached registration form for a list of available courses and their fees.
Students will be allowed to register for a maximum of 2 courses. Courses will only be
offered where numbers warrant. A student may have to change centres to be accommodated
in a desired course. Class schedules are divided into two sections:

Summer school classes are designed to maximize the amount of time available to cover as
much of the necessary curriculum. It is important that students attend ALL classes. A
medical note may be needed after the first absence. After three missed classes, a student will
automatically fail the course and may be asked to leave summer school.
Course Fees
Course fees reflect program duration and number of exams. No refunds will be awarded
after the 1st day of classes. No personal cheques will be accepted.
Family Rate
The maximum charge to a single family for program/tutorial fees is $500.00. This family
rate does not include the cost of supplemental exams and transportation.
Non-LBSPB Students
An additional amount of $50.00 will be added to programs and/or tutorial fees for students
outside the LBPSB and an additional amount of $20.00 for supplemental exam registration.
Off-Island Students
Bus service will be provided for off-island students only in pr edeter mined pick-up
locations to STT at a cost of $90.00 (3 weeks), $60.00 (2 weeks), and $30.00 (1 week) per
student. No busing offered for exams. This fee must be paid at registration.
Secondary 1, 2, 3 Program

Eligibility
Eligibility
Secondary 1, 2, and 3 students may
only register for a summer course with
a minimum grade of 45% or, with
permission of the home school
administration.
Secondary 4 and 5 students may register for a summer course as long as that course
appears either on their report card or their MEES Achievement Record.
