SENIOR MANAGEMENT
Mustafa Sani Şener, Board Member and President & CEO,
Mustafa Sani Şener was appointed as the Member of the Board of Directors, President and
CEO of TAV Airports Holding in 1997. Graduated from the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, Black Sea Technical University (BTU) in 1977, Şener earned his Masters
degree in fluid mechanics in 1979 from the Department of Applied Sciences, University of
Sussex, the UK. He has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from BTU for his invaluable
contributions to the development of Turkish engineering at the international level. Before his
career at TAV Airports, he filled project manager and general manager positions in national
and international projects. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Airports
Council International (ACI) Europe.
Murat Uluğ, Chief Financial Officer,
Murat Uluğ was appointed as the CFO of TAV Airports Holding in 2006.Uluğ has been
serving as the Member of the Corporate Governance Committee since its inception, besides
Board Member at Havas Ground Handling, a subsidiary of TAV Airports Holding, since
2007, CAS Cyprus Airport Services since 2009 and BTA Sea Lines Food and Beverage
Services Inc. since its inception in 2011. Graduated from the Department of Electronic and
Communication Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Istanbul
Technical University in 1992, Uluğ received his Executive MBA Degree from the joint
program of Istanbul Bilgi University and Manchester Business School in 2003. After 11
years of banking experience in ABN AMRO, HSBC and Garanti Bank, Uluğ served as the
Finance Coordinator at Akfen Holding before joining TAV Airports. Besides being a member
of Turkish Institutional Investment Managers Association (TKYD), Corporate Governance
Association of Turkey and Finance and IT Executives Association (TÜBİYAD), Murat Uluğ is
also a board member of Turkish Investor Relations Association.
Serkan Kaptan, Business Development and Investments Director,
Since Serkan Kaptan was appointed as the Business Development Director of TAV Airports
Holding in 2003, he has been leading the business development, airline marketing, research
& development and investment activities. Kaptan is also the Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Havas Europe (formerly known as North Hub Services), Executive Committee
Member of TAV Georgia and TAV Latvia. He graduated from Istanbul University, Department
of Business Administration in 1995. Kaptan received his MBA degree from Marmara
University in 2002. Before joining TAV Airports in 1998, he worked as operations supervisor
and dispatcher at Birgenair Charter Group. He served as an airport operator consultant at
Airport Consulting Vienna from 1998 to 2001. Having a wealth of experience in airport and
airline operations, privatization and public-private partnerships and acquisitions for 19 years,
Kaptan managed Iran and Georgia operations as the Country Director for several years. He
has served as a Member of the Board of Directors at TAV Airports Holding, Havas, and TGS,
Vice Chairman of Cyprus Airport Services and Executive Committee Member of TAV
Macedonia. He has also been the Chairman of Turkish-Latvian Business Council and a
Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish-Czech Business Council in the Foreign
Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK) since 2010.
Yiğit Oğuz Duman, Human Resources Director,
Yiğit Oğuz Duman is appointed as the Human Resources Director at TAV Airports Holding
Co., as of Oct, 2011. Graduated from the department of Industrial Engineering, Boğaziçi
University in 1996 and received his MBA degree from Koç University in 2001. Duman began
his professional career at Kibar Holding Co. in 1995. He assumed responsibilities for change
management, human resources management, industrial relations, quality assurance
practices, labor law projects of Kibar Holding Co. which has operations in various sectors as
foreign trade, automotive, metal and food. He has also worked as Human Resources
Manager at Assan Aluminium and Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Director at
Kibar Holding Co. In 2008, he has joined Turkcell Superonline in which he is currently
employed. He has been undertaking responsibilities in Human Resources, Purchasing and
Administrative Affairs and Customer Experience Management, while serving as Business
Support Assistant General Manager and Customer Experience Management Assistant
General Manager at Turkcell Superonline. In 1995, Duman has joined People Management
Association of Turkey (PERYÖN) which is the greatest NGO in Turkey in terms of HR
Management, has become a board member in 2001 and has fulfilled various managerial
positions since then. Duman served as President of PERYÖN between 2005 and 2010, in
which he currently serves as Assistant General Manager.
Altuğ Koraltan, Internal Audit Director,
Altuğ Koraltan was appointed as the Internal Audit Director of TAV Airports Holding in 2007.
Graduated from the Department of Business Administration, Istanbul University in 1986,
Koraltan began his career as an External Auditor at Peat Marwick& Mitchell between 19861988. He served as a sales representative at the Baghdad office of ENKA Marketing.
Working at Effemex-Mars as a Finance Manager in 1990, Koraltan served as Internal
Auditor, Securities Department Assistant Manager and Dealer at the foreign exchange desk
of the Treasury Department at Ottoman Bank during the following five years. Serving as the
Chairman of the Audit Board of OYAK Bank for a one-year term in 1997, Koraltan was the
head of Internal Audit in charge of Turkey and Greece at ABN AMRO Bank for ten years,
from 1997 to 2007, before joining TAV Airports.
Murat Örnekol, COO,
Örnekol graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Middle East Technical
University in 1980. He served as Deputy CEO of Bayındır Holding Co., President of Health
Care Division, Director of Telecom Project, Logistics and Business Development
Coordinator at Bayındır Group from 1990 to 2000. In his early career, Örnekol worked as
General Manager at Bordata, an IT company and as Planning Engineer, IT Manager and
Trade Manager at Kutlutaş Holding. Before joining TAV Airports, Örnekol worked for Beretta
Holding as the General Manager between 2000 and 2006. He served as the General
Manager of TAV Esenboğa between 2006 and 2008. Murat Örnekol has served as the Chief
Operations Officer of TAV Airports Holding since 2008.
Dr. Waleed Youssef, Strategy Director,
Waleed Youssef has served as Strategy Director of TAV Airports Holding since 2008. A
graduate of the University of California at Berkeley's Department of Civil Engineering, he
subsequently earned his Master’s Degree in transportation economics and Ph.D. degree in
air transport finance from UC Berkeley. Prior to joining TAV Airports, Dr. Youssef served as
Director at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, and as Aviation Specialist at the International
Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Dr. Youssef has vast
experience in airport privatization, including successful transactions in JFK Terminal 4(USA),
Brisbane International Airport(Australia), and Bangalore International Airport(India). During
his tenure at the IFC, Youssef served as privatization advisor to the governments of
Jordan(Amman), Saudi Arabia(Hajj Terminal), Madagascar(Antananarivo), Nigeria(Abuja)
and Panama(Howard AFB). In Abu Dhabi, he led the corporatization and certification of its
two airport companies (Abu Dhabi and Al Ain). Dr. Youssef is the immediate past Chairman
of the World Economics Standing Committee at ACI and the Chairman of the Committee on
Airfield and Airspace Capacity and Delay at the US National Academy of Sciences
Transportation Research Board.
Deniz Aydın, Financial Affairs Director,
Deniz Aydın, Financial Affairs Coordinator at TAV Airports Holding since 2006, was
appointed as the Financial Affairs Director of TAV Airports Holding in July 2010. Graduated
from the Department of Economics, Middle East Technical University in 1988, Aydın has
been a Certified Public Accountant since 2004 and is a member of the Istanbul TURMOB
Chamber of CPAs. Before joining the TAV Group, she worked in finance, financial systems,
management and international reporting and development of related systems at Ernst &
Young, Akfen Holding, Bobcock&Wilcox Gama Kazan, and FMC Nurol Savunma San. A.Ş.
Haluk Bilgi, Business Development Director (Subsidiaries) and TAV Tunisie Country
Director,
Haluk Bilgi was appointed as the Business Development Director (Subsidiaries) of TAV
Airports Holding in 2008 and also serves as TAV Tunisie Country Director. Graduated from
Department of Economics, Istanbul University in 1992, Bilgi received his MBA degree from
the Middle East Technical University, and attended the Structuring Effective Private Equity
Partnership Program of Harvard Business School in 1999. Beginning his career as a Foreign
Relations Specialist at BBBAG in 1991, Bilgi assumed his first position abroad in 1993 with
Sibkon Siberia. He joined Tepe Group in 1995, and served as a Senior Executive in Russian
Federation, England, U.S.A. and Iraq at Tepe Group and its subsidiaries for the next ten
years. Before joining TAV Airports as Business Development Group Manager in 2005, Bilgi
served as Business Development Coordinator at Tepe Construction and as a Member of the
American Management Association, Foreign Economic Relations Board Turkish American
Business Council International Contracting Committee, Central Anatolia Exporters Union
Board of Directors, Global Ethics, UTICA, Tunisian American Chamber of Commerce.
Ersagun Yücel, General Secretary,
Ersagun Yücel was appointed as the General Secretary of TAV Airports Holding in 2002 and
as the Member of the Board of Directors in 2009. Graduated from the Department of
Business Administration, California Newport University in 1999, Yücel is currently pursuing
his MBA degree in the same university. He also graduated from the Department of
Serigraphy, Yıldız Technical University in 1994, and attended the New York University
Advertising and Marketing Program in 1997. Beginning his career as a graphic artist in MR
Com Graphics in 1993, Yücel worked as manager in Rifle Jeans and Calvin Klein Jeans
between 1995 and 1998. He joined TAV Airports in 1999 as the Assistant to the President &
CEO. As the General Secretary of TAV Airports Holding, Yücel also oversees the activities of
the departments of Corporate Communications, External Relations, Management Systems
and Executive Board Administrative Affairs.
Ceyda Akbal , General Counsel, TAV Airports Holding
Ceyda Akbal following her graduation from the Galatasaray Lyceum, graduated from the
Faculty of Law of Galatasaray University in 1999. She later received a postgraduate degree
in private law from the same university and later obtained her second postgraduate degree in
economic law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Since 2000, Akbal has
worked in the fields of Competition Law and International Trade Law in various legal bureaus
located in Paris and Istanbul. She has provided legal services on the international level for
leading companies of the medicine, air and sea transportation, telecommunications and
cement industries in Turkey.
Kemal Ünlü, General Manager, TAV Istanbul
Kemal Ünlü was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Istanbul in 2005. Graduated from
the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gazi University in 1983, Ünlü joined TAV Airports
in 2004 after leaving his post as the Principal in Charge of Atatürk Airport at the Turkish State
Airports Authority. He held various positions at the Turkish State Airports Authority
Esenboğa, Antalya and Atatürk Airports between 1978 and 2004.
Nuray Demirer, General Manager, TAV Esenboğa
Nuray Demirer was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Esenboğa in 2008.
Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Istanbul Technical University in 1988,
Demirer joined TAV Airports for the construction of the Atatürk Airport International Terminal
in 1999. Demirer was the Project Manager of TAV Esenboğa Domestic and International
Terminals. She served as the Assistant General Manager of TAV Esenboğa between 2006
and 2008. Beginning her career at Atölye T Architecture in 1988, Demirer served in both the
construction and the operation of Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Factory, as well as Site
Manager, Construction Manager and Project Manager at Tepe Construction.
Fırat Erkan Balcı, General Manager, TAV Izmir
Fırat Erkan Balcı was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Izmir in 2009. Balcı was
appointed as the Assistant General Manager of TAV Izmir in 2006 and served as the Acting
General Manager from March 2008 to January 2009.Graduated from the Department of Civil
Engineering, Middle East Technical University in 1996, he served as the Assistant General
Manager of TAV Izmir between 2006 and 2008. Before joining TAV Airports, Balcı worked as
the Operations Manager at the Antalya Airport International Terminal I, IT Project Manager at
Fraport, and IT Chief at Bayındır Antalya Airport.
K. Mete Erkal, General Manager, TAV Georgia
K. Mete Erkal was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Georgia as of June 2010.
Graduated from the Department of Finance, the Southern Illinois University in 1993. Erkal
served as the Operations Coordination Manager of TAV Airports Holding between 2008 and
2009, and as the TAV Georgia Deputy General Manager from September 2009 to June
2010. He was a Management Trainee at Blinder&Robinson Co., in St. Louis, USA and
served as the New York and Paris Routes Manager at Turkish Airlines before1995. He
served as the Assistant General Manager, responsible from Sales and Services in the
privatization of HAVAS Ground Handling Services and in the partnership with Swissport
between 1995-1999, and from 1999 to 2002 he served as the Commercial Director at Celebi
Ground Handling Services. Erkal, who served as the Marketing Director at ATA Holding for
three years before joining TAV Airports, is also a member of the “American Marketing
Association”.
Zoran Krstevski, General Manager, TAV Macedonia
Zoran Krstevski was appointed as a General Manager of TAV Macedonia DOOEL in
January 2011. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, University St. “Cyril & Methodius” in
1985, Krstevski served as the General Director of Civil Aviation Agency of Republic of
Macedonia from 2008 to 2010 before joining TAV Airports. Krstevski was a member of
Provisional Council of Eurocontrol Management Board, Enlarged Committee, ECAC, and
EASA Management Board Observer. Krstevski worked as a General Director of JSC
Airports Macedonia between 2006 and 2008, where he was a member of ACI Policy
Committee. He was a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia from 2002 to
2006, and served as the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs from 2000 to 2002.
Krstevski, worked as the Vice President and Assistant General Director of JSC Makpetrol
from 1996 to 2000, was the General Director of PEAS Airport Services for three years, and a
Senior Expert Associated with Aviation Law between 1986 and 1990.
Sofiene Benabdessalem, General Manager, Medina Int’l Airport
Sofiene Benabdessalem was appointed as the General Manager, Madinah Airport, as of
November, 2011.Benabdessalem was graduated from Tunisia Aviation Academy TeleMechanics Engineering in 1992. He got his master’s degree in 1994 from Ecole Nationale
de l’Aviation Civile’den (France) (National Civil Aviation School – France) in Airport
Management. Appointed as TAV Tunisie Enfidha International Airport Operational Deputy
General Manager in 2008, Benabdessalem was responsible for airport operations and
security, inspection of national and international standards compliance, analysis of service
quality requirements of the airport and concurrent necessary arrangement, coordination and
communication with the responsible government aviation committees, coordination of the
civil aviation authorities, government entities, and security forces. Sofiene Benabdessalem
started his career in 1995 at Tunisia TOZEUR International Airport as an Airport
Responsible and involved in projects about airport construction and improvement,
development of the tourism industry and tourism of South Tunisia. Benabdessalem had
started working in Tunisia Monastir International Airport in 1997 and worked as Airport Air
Transportation Committee President, Airport Security Committee Board Chairman and
undertaken coordination with government departments, airport organization and
management, planning and development.
Eda Bildiricioğlu, General Manager, TAV Operations Services
Eda Bildiricioğlu was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Operation Services in 2006.
Graduated from the Department of Business Administration and Economics, Eastern
Mediterranean University in 1991, Bildiricioğlu served as marketing manager at various
companies before joining TAV Airports in 1997 as the Commercial Affairs Manager.
Binnur Güleryüz Onaran, General Manager, TAV IT
Binnur Onaran was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Information Technologies in
July 2010. Onaran was appointed as the System Support and Application Assistant General
Manager of TAV Information Technologies in 2006 and was the Deputy General Manager
from October 2009 to July 2010. Having attended the Computer Programmer/Analyst
Program at Conestoga College between 1990-1993, Onaran presented computer
programming and network administration trainings as Training Manager at Vancouver, CDI
College between 1993 and 1995. She worked in managerial positions in the Information
Technology and Organization Department of Mercedes Benz Turkey between 1995 and
2002. After completing the Daimler Chrysler executive training program, she was appointed
as Senior Manager, Organization & IT (CIO) of Mercedes Benz Turkey in 2002. Having
worked as IT Director of TÜVTURK before joining TAV Airports, Onaran carried out network,
telecommunication, software development, ERP and infrastructure projects, and served in
organizational structuring, process optimization and system development projects.
Turgay Şahan, General Manager, TAV Security
Turgay Şahan was appointed as the General Manager of TAV Private Security Services in
April 2011. Having joined TAV Security in 2006, Şahan served as the Esenboğa Airport
Private Security Coordinator from January 2010 to April 2011he served as the Assistant
General Maneger. Mr. Şahan Graduated from Police Academy in 1989, Şahan attended the
Scotland Yard Police Department Occupational Colloboration Program between 1989 and
1990 and the European Union Integration Course in Ankara University between 1999 and
2000. He served at various positions in different units of İzmir, Tunceli, Ankara Police
Departments and he also served in Haiti, Bosna, Kosova, United Nations Peacekeeping
Force, Belgium ECAC and as Airports Security Branch Manager at Security General
Directorate of National Police Protection Department and Chairman of Training, Inspection
and Investigation Experts Committee between 1989 and 2006.
Müjdat Yücel, General Manager, Havas
Müjdat Yücel was appointed as the General Manager of Havas in 2005, as he was serving
as Assistant General Manager at Havas since 2004. He worked for Turkish Airlines from
1972 to 2003. During his tenure at Turkish Airlines, Yücel served in Singapore, Iran, the
USA, and England internationally, as well as serving as the Head of Ground Operations for
two years and as the Assistant General Manager of Ground Operations for four years in
Turkey, respectively.
Ersan Arcan, General Manager, ATU
Ersan Arcan was appointed as the General Manager of ATU in August 2007 and he was
responsible for the P&L and management of all Duty Free operations of ATU. Ercan has over
19 years of work experience both as an entrepreneur and as a professional in retailing
sector. Graduated from Warnborough College Oxford, Britain,(BBA) in 1989 and from
Schiller University Heidelberg, Germany, Business Administration in 1991. Before joining
ATU, Arcan worked as responsible for the northern Europe market; sales and brand
representation at A.T.A s.a.r.l in Switzerland. Arcan served as the Operations Manager at
ATU between 1999 and 2005 and he was responsible for the management of Istanbul Duty
Free operation unit. He served as the Deputy General Manager at ATU between 2005 and
2007 and he was responsible for the P&L and management of Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara
Duty Free operation units.
Sadettin Cesur, General Manager, BTA
Sadettin Cesur was appointed as the General Manager of BTA in 2000. Graduated from
London Sheffield Hallam University Travel & Tourism Management programme, he also
attended Managing Successfully program in the USA. Before joining TAV Airports, Cesur
also worked for five-star hotels including Çınar Hotel, Parksa Hilton, Conrad Istanbul, Four
Seasons Hotel and Bilintur Catering Center. Cesur is appointed as the President / CEO of
BTA’s Airport Operations, Cakes & Bakes Operation and BTA Sea Lines Food and Beverage
Services Inc. as of July 2011, in addition to his current duty.
