trekking through the jungles of Cambodia to one of the most
renowned and impressive sights in South-East Asia, Angkor
Wat.

In the heart of old Indochina, the small country of Cambodia is
home to breathtaking jungles dotted with temples and ruins,
thatched villages and small towns where Buddhist temples
nestle amongst graceful French colonial buildings.

Our exciting trek takes us off the beaten track, through paddy
fields, dense forests and villages to sacred Phnom Kulen – the
highest point on your journey at 487m. We will camp near
village pagodas, allowing you to fully immerse yourself into the
local way of life.
Not only will you be joined by fellow Help for Heroes
fundraisers, but also members of the Band of Brothers and
Band of Sisters – the very people you’ll be supporting – who
will walk alongside you and share their stories.
The trek is led by qualified mountain leaders, extensively
supported by Cambodian guides and porters, along with a
western GP.
This is your chance to be a part of a truly inspirational trek
amid the most renowned and impressive sights in South-East
Asia.

DAY 1-2: Depart London, flying to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Transfer to hotel.
DAY 3: Trip briefing and start of trekking in Siem Reap. Head
North to the Pagoda camp.
DAY 4: Long day of trekking from Pagoda to Wat Preash Bat
Bun Tham.
DAY 5: Trek towards the low mountain range of Phnom Kulen
via Beng Mealea and Svay Leu.
DAY 6: A challenging day of trekking to the top of Phnom Kulen
and its sacred hilltop site.
DAY 7: Time to leave the mountain range on a small jungle
trail, finishing in a local village school.
DAY 8: The final day of trekking takes us to the magnificent
12th century Angkor Wat, via the city of Angkor Thom.
Celebrate with a delicious meal and unwind at your hotel.
DAY 9: Free time to explore Siem Reap. Transfer to airport for
flight home.

Meet up with your team at a London airport ready for your
overnight flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Arrive in Siem Reap and transfer to your hotel, where you will
have time to relax and explore the bustling town and local
culture.
You will head towards the low mountain range of Phnom
Kulen, which you will reach the following day. As you trek, you
will pass small villages and paddy fields, and be treated to a
beautiful view of Phnom Kulen. You will you continue across
cow cart tracks towards Beng Mealea and explore its
fascinating ruins. A short transfer will take you to your evening
campsite, Svay Leu, where you will have time to visit the local
market near the pagoda and witness the villagers’ unique way
of life.
Trek approx. 8hrs; 20km
After breakfast, your Discover Adventure leader will give you a
full trip briefing before taking a short transfer out of town to
begin the trek. You will be heading south-east, passing through
several small villages and have the chance to witness the
beautiful Cambodian jungle farmland, and say hello to the
friendly locals.
Temples and pagodas will always be a short distance away so
time will be made to have a good look around. After a lunch
break you will continue through farmland, heading north to
your camp for the night.
Trek approx. 6hrs; 16km
Today’s trek takes you along small dirt roads before turning off
into shrubland. You will then gradually wind your way
northwards towards your evening pagoda camp.
Trek approx. 9hrs; 22km
It’s time to take on the challenging trek to the top of Phnom
Kulen. You’ll notice that the local people make pilgrimages to
the pagodas and ruins on the mountain top. Lunch today is in
Anlong Thorn, a small village of thatched houses. You will
continue trekking to a giant Buddha statue and may get the
chance to take a dip in The River of a Thousand Lingas, where
you can admire the elaborate carvings in the riverbed.
Trek approx. 8hrs; 19km
Beginning on an old trail, along the way you’ll meet the local
people who still use the path for hunting and cutting lianas.
You will head south-east on a small jungle route down the
mountain, before reaching sandy and occasionally muddy
tracks. Little shade will be available as you pass villages, local
schools and an abundance of pagodas, before reaching camp
for the night ready for your final day’s trek.

Your trip will be led by experienced Discover Adventure leaders.
Every leader is friendly and approachable but, most importantly,
they have the ability to safely and effectively deal with any
situation that arises while trekking. Your leaders will be trained in
expedition first aid, however you will also be accompanied by an
expedition doctor.
The local support crew will include guides, drivers and cooks who
will take great care of you and tell you all about the interesting
culture and values of Cambodia. They will have vehicle support
throughout the trek to carry all luggage, food, water, and camping
equipment.

It’s your last day of trekking! After a hearty breakfast, it’s time
to head off to Angkor Wat. The first Angkor temple you
encounter is Prasat Ta Som, before loading up into the local
mode of transport; tuk-tuks! You will pass many temples and
ruins along the way, including the spectacular walled city of
Angkor Thom and the famous Bayon temple, standing proud in
the heart of the city. When you reach the magnificent 12th
Century Angkor Wat, make sure to climb the steep and narrow
steps of the central spire for a beautiful view over the whole
temple.
To mark the finish to your incredible adventure, you will have
free time to explore the temple complex until sunset. It will
then be time to catch the bus to your hotel for a refreshing
shower and celebratory meal, where you’ll be treated to a
traditional dance show!
Trek approx. 3hrs; 12km
Enjoy some free time to explore Siem Reap and visit more of
the temples of Angkor. There is lots to do and explore, such as
visiting the temple of Ta Prohm, shopping at local markets and
even experiencing a Cambodian-style massage.
Later today you fly back from Siem Reap to UK London airport
where your adventure ends, leaving you with a lifetime’s
worth of memories and some incredible stories to share with
your friends and family!
