UNESCO questionnaire on the Programme and Budget for the period 2018-2021 (39 C/5)
Q34: Question 8: In the light of the programme assessment results in the SRR, as well as the findings of
external evaluations and your own assessment, please indicate which of the thematic area(s) listed above
under ‘Part F - Programme priorities for the future 39 C/5’ should be discontinued in the 39 C/5. Please use also
the same text box for any other related comment.[Note: For ease of reference you may wish to access the list
of thematic areas in the pdf version of the questionnaire]
In our point of view, if Programme priorities for the future should be discontinued in the 39 C/5 it would be in the
following fields:
1. Natural sciences and thematic areas.
2. UNESCO Institute for Statistics.
Those are important items but, since we have to make priorities we think that they could be discontinued and be
transferred to other specialized organisations which can work on these fields under the supervision and monitoring of
UNESCO.
PAGE 15: LAST QUESTION
Q35: Question 9: If you wish to add any other general comment please enter your text in the box below:
Knowing that the resources of UNESCO are limited, our comments are based on the fact that UNESCO should focus on
what she stands for (Education, Science and Culture) where she acquired very important experience and fruitful
achievements, transferring the other thematics to most specialized organisations.
