Employee Stair-Climbing Challenge
Can you climb the height of Mount Everest?
Think you’ve got what it takes to win? Prove it! Get your team together and strategize how your
department will log the most flights of stairs climbed per person to win.
The winning department receives public recognition and bragging rights, as well as a nutritional
coffee break for participating employees, compliments of Employee Wellness, Department of
Human Resources.

April 3-7, 2017
Only stair climbing completed in a building on
campus will be counted towards this challenge.
How many flights of stairs will it take to climb Mt. Everest? Four meters roughly equals
one flight of stairs. As a group, you will need 8,848 metres.
(Note: If there is a landing halfway between floors, that does not count as two flights of
stairs).
