CALL TO ORDER
The Chair, Fred Heyduk, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m

NEW BUSINESS
a) Staff/Council Update
Clerk –

-
The annual report 2014-2015 – Working on it for a future date.
Holly unable to gather information on paying for permits in
accessible parking yet.
Gerry Reinders and Councillor Ron Ego unavailable to attend
due to a council meeting.
Mental health training- May 16/17 ,2016 at the Fire Hall from
9:00 a.m. to 4;30 p.m. Kim to attend and Michelle-tentative
There is a Council vacancy- Ron Anderson has resigned.
Council will decide how to fill the vacancy.
A Motion was made by Mark Ruttan that due to health reasons
Frank Nunnaro be granted an extended leave form from the
accessibility advisory committee, Seconded by Kim Lattimore
and Carried.
Holly will send a get well card to Frank Nunnaro.
Lifeguards- The Town funding is on hold for now until Ministry
of Natural Resources says yes to maintenance. Kiosks are
being built on Beach 1 and Beach 2 from Spruce St. to 6th St.
Gerry Reinders ( Manager of Facilities, Parks and Recreation
- He is very busy with opening parks now. The new trail is fully
accessible. Transit buses can accommodate scooters with
certain hooks.New buses must be accessible. Councillor Ron
Ego is at a conference this week. Holly will present Councillor
report if Councillor not available.
b) Service Dog Relief Updates- No updates at the moment.
c) Library Kids Program Day- Date for Library Kids Program Day is
August 18th from 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(11 a.m., setup) student
help,Cathy Turrie to arrange speaker at 1:00 p.m. for 20 minutes. Adam
Dixon for sledge hockey? Holly will call Chris for Paralympic games.
Maybe we can arrange a photographer.
School Program – Mon. May 30th 9:20 to 11 a.m.-St. Noel and Tuesday
May 31 11:20 to 1 p.m. at Worsley. We can go to the Christian school
every other year- 150 children in total. The following will be available:

Sledge Hockey: Stacy Ash, Lincoln, Wyndrum
Booth 4:
Wasaga Beach Accessibility: Ruth Fred, Michelle(game with pics on
computer-what is accessible-Holly, Ruth available –Fred and Michelle
available on Tuesday
Booth 5:
Dyslexia: Kim(Computer game(dot to dot reading)
Booth 6:
Wheelchair races:Meghan?Ron?Sheri?(adaptive devices: reacher game)
Holly will ask Angela Webster to make up volunteer bags for people
volunteering at the booths. There will be handout temporary tattoos for
the children with the accessibility logo.
Award ceremony: on Saturday. June 11th,2016 @ 11:00 at the library.
This date will be confirmed by May 17th,2016. Should Bonnie present
award? Holly will make up a media release.
Mark-Dairy Queen coupons. Kim-bracelets and Holly- media release and
pamphlets and flyers for schools. Michelle- pizza, Grandma’;s treats,
cake, Wasaga 500 Go Karts , contest for coloring. A thank you will be
sent after the school event to all participants.

Saturday 12:30-2:30 p.m..
We can get Tshirts from South Paw minimum 12 in budget. 12 white cost
$227 or 12 navy $275. It was agreed by show of hands to get navy with a
small logo. Someone to check with John Fisher at Ministry of Natural
Resources to see if we can borrow the sand wheelchair along with
information on our school program to put out on our table.
June- Accessibility week-Proclamation from Council in May.
d) Wellness Day-Update- Mark Kinney will be hosting this event.
Saturday October 1st 10- 4 Recplex. Setup 9 a.m. Contact person- Holly.
Who is attending? Manning table,, right materials, Mark will be
advertising. Need more hands on activities.

ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS
a) Regional Accessibility Fair – 2016 Each Town runs their fair under
Accessibility Advisory – May 5, 2016
the Simcoe County umbrella.-Date not set at this time.
