2. Hazardous identification
This product contains thimerosal as a preservative. As a pure powder, it is very toxic, allergenic, and a
suspected carcinogen and teratogen. Due to the presence of mercury it is suspected to cause neurological
disease and disturbed behaviour. At low concentration, health risks are extremely reduced. Thimerosal is
present at a concentration not higher that 0.8 %, therefore the corrisponding degree of hazard is “harmful”.

4. First Aid Measures
General advice: consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
If swallowed: rinse mouth repeatedly with water. Consult a physician.
If inhaled: supply fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
In case of contact skin: rinse with plenty of water. Consult a physician.
In case of contact eye: rinse with plenty of water. Consult a physician.
5. Fire-fighting Measures
Suitable extinguishing media: CO2, powder, foam, water.
Special protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: use personal protective equipment.
Avoid dust formation. Ensure adeguate ventilation. Avoid breathing dust.
Procedures for cleaning/absorption: take up with liquid-adsorbent material or absorbent paper without
creating dust.

7. Handling and Storage
Handling: usual precautions; avoid inhalation and consumption, avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Storage: Store as indicated, away from food and feedstuffs. Keep tightly closed.
8. Exposure controls/personal protection
Exposure guidelines: The product does not contain any relevant amount of chemicals with occupational
exposure limits
Respiratory protection: When handling powder use an appropriate dust masks. Use respirators and
components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN
(EU).
Eye protection: Use safety glasses. Use equipment tested and approved under appropriate government
standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).
Hand protection: use protective gloves. Gloves have to satisfy the specification of UE 89/686/CEE and
standard EN 374 derived from it.
Body Protection: The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and
amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
Hygiene measures: When using, do note at, drink or smoke. Wash hands bifore breaks and immediately
after handling the prducts.

biological matrices (es. animal urine, wine) and other raw material of animal and plant. The products not
containing any relevant amount of chemicals with occupational exposure limits.
