The Drives Service Business (DMDR Service), part of the Drives & Controls Business Unit, is responsible for the technical and service support for ABB Variable Speed Drives. As an integral part of the Discrete Automation and Motion Division, DMDR Service also supports a range of associated automation equipment and customers with engineering solutions and service requirements for a wide range of customer applications and installed bases, Australia wide. Positions include: Location: Job Function: Employment Contract Type: 1 Field Service Engineers, Western Australia MALAGA, Western Australia, Australia Service and Maintenance Project, Full-Time Division/Function: Publication ID: Discrete Automation and Motion AU54953374_E1 Tasks Field Service Engineer – Port Headland •#Single role •#4/3 rotation •#Fly in and Out •#Fixed term contract, minimum 12 months Field Service Engineer - Pilbara Region •#2 roles working back to back •#8/6 rotation •#Fly in Fly Out •#Fixed term contract, minimum 12 months. These roles will be initially based on a 12 month contract working under a broader contractual agreement to supply labour over a 3 year period. The opportunity to join the ABB DMDR service business in an ongoing full time role after the contract period will be offered to the candidate based on maintaining, commissioning and repairing AC drives and drives used in mining applications. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously without supervision is essential for success in the role. You will be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and plan jobs to meet customer requirements within agreed timeframes. Industrial process application knowledge of MV Transformers, Switchgears as well as experience working in mining industries would be highly regarded. A current electrical (preferred) or restricted electrical license is also required as will be a solid understanding of OHS procedures, preparing JSEAs, Hazard Identifications, PPE requirements, workshop and site requirements. current labour requirements. These positions report directly to the Western Australia Service Manager and you will be expected to develop a strong working relationship with our customers’ Operational and Maintenance team. As first point of contact on site for all ABB Drive issues, you will be responsible for managing ABB’s installed of drives and related commissioning, fault finding, alternation and recommended maintenance tasks as per ABB factory directives. You responsibilities extend to the supporting the customer in the planning of shuts and in the supervision of trades’ personnel during shutdowns on site, your support for the site extends to the back-up support for the existing after hours technical phone support at all times.
