EPIC-MAZING!
What’s Alive?
Discuss with your children how we can know something is alive.
Find something alive and something inanimate to compare. You
can find real objects or use pictures and discuss them.
How do you tell that one of these is alive and one is not? Potential
answers are: It is breathing. It makes sounds to communicate. It is
moving. It moves when you touch it. It responds when you make
noise. It eats and drinks.
We can easily tell the difference between something that is dead
and something that is alive by watching for some simple signs.
Remind the children that the disciples saw Jesus dead, when His
body could do none of these things. Then they saw Jesus when He
had come back alive. They knew and believed that Jesus was alive
because He did all of these things. In the same way that we can
easily see the difference between something dead and something
alive, the disciples saw and believed that Jesus was alive. Because
they carefully wrote down what happened and because they
spread the good news about Jesus being alive, we can also believe
that Jesus is alive and keep spreading the good news!
Oh no! Chester is lost! Help him find Fernando in this week’s EPIC MAZE!
