This course is a survey of the legal bases of public education in the United States and of contemporary legal issues
and cases affecting the practice of school administration. Although the primary objective is to acquaint the
student with the legal principles governing public education in the nation and the State of Maine, special attention
will be given to those topics of school law which are, or should be, of immediate concern to the practicing school
administrator.
