WORKSHOP
Come and take part in LGO’s instrument-making
instrument making workshop as part of the
MAGIC OF MAKING MUSIC PROJECT
Make your own instrument and learn how to play it! (Materials supplied)
WIND INSTRUMENTS led by Liam Fionescu
Build a ‘clarinoodle’ or a ‘snake charmer’ from pipes, tennis
balls and other unusual materials…
For this workshop, basic skills of playing whistle-like
whistle
or
reed woodwind instruments are helpful. After building the
instrument, Liam will teach you his
h favourite tune, and lead
some free improvisation on your new instrument.

Build a DIY drum!
Shake, rattle and roll with the LGO’s DIY Drum
making workshop! Using mostly found and recycled
material, we’ll learn to make and decorate our very
own bottle maracas, bucket drum kits, tin can
xylophones and flower pot drums! The best part of
the workshop comes when we all play them in a big
DIY Balkan jam!
Who is it for? People of ages 8 and up! Under 16s must be accompanied by an
adult.
Where is it? St Anne’s Community Hall, 37 Hemsworth Street, London, N1 5LF
When is it? 27th October and 3rd November 2.30-5pm.
5pm. Attend either one or both
sessions, but for more elaborate instruments be sure to come to both!
How much? It’s FREE,, but donations towards the cost of materials are welcome!
