Connie Rice – Civil Rights Leader, Attorney, Co-founder of L.A.’s Advancement Project, and
prominent leader in successful efforts to reform the LAPD and improve police-community relations.
Connie Rice is renowned for her unconventional approaches to tackling problems of inequity and
exclusion.
Susan K. Lee - Director of Urban Peace at the Advancement Project, California. Ms. Lee oversees
the implementation of an Urban Peace agenda by building inter-agency and organizational coalitions
in urban cities across the U.S.
CA Senator Loni Hancock – (9th Dist. - Berkeley, Oakland) social justice leader who advocates
for investments in rehabilitation programs and economic development as well as educational reform,
environmental protection and open government.
David Muhammad – CEO of Solutions Inc., a consulting firm focusing on juvenile and criminal
justice issues. David has served as Chief Probation Officer of the Alameda County Probation
Department and as Deputy Commissioner of New York City's Department of Probation.

David Kakishiba – Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) District 2 Boardmmber and President,
as well as Executive Director of the East Bay Asian Youth Center (EBAYC), an independent youth
development organization based in Oakland’s San Antonio neighborhood district.
Kareem Weaver – Executive Director at New Leaders, Bay Area, brings 16 years of teaching and
leadership in OUSD. He is an advocate for the health and betterment of urban children and disrupting
patterns of dysfunction and inequity.
Geoffrey Godfrey - Executive Director of Oakland’s California Youth Outreach (CYO). CYO works
with Oakland’s diverse younger population to interrupt and preventing gang violence, mediate
conflicts, improve school attendance & performance and develop career skills.
Demetria Huntsman – Program Coordinator at Youth Alive’s Teens on Target, a program that
offers high school students opportunities to play leadership roles in violence prevention efforts.
