So did LeBron. The powerful feeling of wanting to go home. In the movie The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy clicked her ruby red heels and whispered, “There is no place like home”. LeBron James, the best professional basketball player on the planet who could play anywhere and at any salary, chose to go back home to play. John Ed Pearce once wrote, “Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to.” Why is that? Why do the John Ed Pearces, the Dorothys, the LeBrons, and so many of us at a certain age feel the compelling desire to return home? To me, home is a “feeling” more than a “place”. Connection return. Sadly though, this isn’t always the case. Many organizations and individuals are working hard, however, in trying to create an environment where opportunities can someday be the norm, not the exception. At PSC, we are trying to do our part. Any business leader or economic development exec will tell you a “must have” to attract new companies, or grow existing ones, is access to a high-speed broadband network and the technology that travels across it. This is a key reason why PSC has expanded its network regionally to surrounding communities and economic development areas. It’s that important! PSC is proud of the role we are playing within our region to boost economic development and support our existing businesses. Hundreds of companies and corporations are operating more efficiently and greatly benefiting from our high-speed fiber optic network. Hopefully these very companies are working hard at creating opportunities for others. Perhaps, for that someone who is ready to come home.
