Join dietitian Lisa Markley in the Whole Foods Market
Cooking Studio, where she will demonstrate healthy,
practical, and tasty meal and snack recipes for boosting
and sustaining energy. Recipe packet and tastings
included. Materials fee is $8 cash for meal, paid at the
door – exact change is helpful. This class is reserved for
people dealing with any form of chronic illness (and their
caregivers). Must register 48 hours in advance by calling

Join Healthy Eating Specialist and Dietitian, Lisa Markley,
to identify and locate items suitable for most Gluten-Free
diets in this informative, enjoyable, and FREE tour. Lisa
will share tips and strategies for gluten-free cooking and
you will have an opportunity to sample a few new
products to suit your diet. Meet in the café.

will demo how to make a few delicious, yet nourishing
snacks made entirely from real food ingredients.
Participants will go home with a few amazing Kansas City
made Rawxies™ products.
SWEET AND TANGY PEANUT SAUCE
Makes 1 cup
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup natural peanut butter
1/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice or coconut milk
1 tablespoon tamari soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Zest and juice of 2 limes
1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, grated (about 1 1/2
teaspoons)
2 cloves garlic, crushed through a press or minced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red chile flakes
1 green onion, thinly sliced
A few tablespoons of water
METHOD
Combine peanut butter, pineapple juice or coconut milk,
tamari soy sauce, vinegar and lime zest and juice in a
blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Transfer to a small bowl and stir in ginger, garlic, red chile
flakes and green onion. Thin with 1 tablespoon of water at
a time, if a thinner consistency is desired. Peanut sauce
will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up
to 1 week.
