Although there is no population trend available, there are no known threats to this species. Moreover, its distribution overlaps with marine reserves in parts of its range. It is listed as Least Concern. Geographic Range Range Description: Clinus rotundifrons is only known from Lüderitzbucht, Namibia to Cape Point, South Africa. There is no other population information available. Current Population Trend: Unknown Habitat and Ecology (see Appendix for additional information) Gynutoclinus rotundifrons is a demersal species often found in subtidal kelp beds to depths of 8 m. Adult individuals can reach sizes over 10 cm. It feeds on small crustaceans such as amphipods, isopods, and crabs (Wilson 2009). Systems: Marine Threats There are no known threats to this species.
