GS1 US DATA HUB | PRODUCT Troubleshooting Guide

GS1 US DATA HUB | PRODUCT
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
My location is in draft
status. Does this impact
my U.P.C.s?
Likely Cause
Your Entity GLN was used
to populate the Top Level
GLN field in GS1 US Data
Hub and is the same
number shown on your
prefix certificate. For
product subscribers, location
is optional.
Solution
Draft status is an indicator that more
information is needed about the Top Level
GLN (“Entity GLN”). Refer to the Quick
Start Guide for making your Entity GLN
active.
This will not impact your
ability to create/manage
your GTINs (U.P.C.s). You
may refer to the Top Level
GLN in other areas, such as
GDSN and data pools, even
if your product is still in
Draft status.
As a product brand owner,
I chose to selectively
share my products with
specific companies. How
do I restore these
settings?
Default sharing is turned
on. GS1 US Data Hub is
designed to preserve selective
share settings on products
you manage.
You or your company administrator may
turn off default share settings. Navigate
to the Administration tab at the top of
the user interface. Click on Product
Settings > Manage. Uncheck the box
labeled “Share all In Use products
with GS1 US Data Hub Product
View/Use Subscribers”. This action
restores all previous selective shares
across your product portfolio and you
may add more selective shares as the
need arises.
As a GS1 US Data Hub |
Product view/use
subscriber, I am not
receiving notifications of
changes to product
listings.
GS1 US Data Hub does not
provide for proactive
notification of changes to
product details. A Product
view/use subscriber must
actively pull product listings
of shared products.
Click on Product > View/Use and
search for products by brand name,
description or company name. You will
be able to export all products from the
data table or narrow your search using
the filters in the data table before
exporting.
The time stamp on my
export files is incorrect.
This is a known bug in the
export process. The
timestamp reflects the time
the file was processed in
Central US time
If desired you may save the file under a
different name. The naming convention
for export files follows
yyyymmddhhmmss. If needed replace
the two-digit hour (hh) with your time
zone.

I entered the Product
Description and Brand
Name, and selected
Product Industry and
Packaging Level. Why
can’t I select the GS1
Company Prefix?
You haven’t saved the
entered information
First click Save. If you choose to Auto
Assign or Assign Manually you’ll then
be prompted to choose which prefix you
want to use for this GTIN.
I added a product to a
case, but when I try to
type a quantity greater
than 1 it keeps going back
to 1.
The system is not detecting
the quantity change.
Click on the Qty field. Enter the quantity.
You’ll see a greater than symbol (>) next
to the QTY field. Click on this symbol.
This saves the quantity you just entered.
I am not able to add more
than one product to my
case
You may have set up your
Packaging Level as a “Case”
instead of a “Mixed Case”. A
“Case” allows for only one
product within the case; a
“Mixed Case” allows for
different products within the
case.
If your case is In Use, then you cannot
make changes to its Packaging Level.
You’ll need to create a new product with a
Packaging Level of “Mixed Case” and
then you can assign more than one
product to the case.
If your case is Draft, then you can
change the Packaging Level to “Mixed
Case” and assign more than one product
to the case.
I am not able to add more
than one product type to
my inner pack.
To comply with GS1 Standards, an inner
pack can contain only one product type.
I am not able to add
additional products after
saving a mixed case.
Your case may be In Use.
Once an item is In Use no
more modifications can be
made to it.
To preserve the information of the In Use
mixed case, clone the In Use product, add
the additional product and assign a new
GTIN.
I need to create a barcode
for my product.
Your product must be in
Active status and assigned a
GTIN.
Once your product is In Use and
assigned a GTIN, the barcode tab will
display as part of the Product Detail.

My trading partner list is
blank and I’m not able to
edit the list.
Your company administrator
has not set this up yet.
Contact your company administrator and
ask them to setup your trading partner
list. To find out who your company
administrator is, click your name in the
top right-hand corner and select user
profile. Your company administrator will
be listed there.
My prefix capacity is
showing a negative
number. Is that right?
When you created a product
in Data Driver you used an
Indicator Digit “9” for a
variable measure product and
an Indicator Digit “0” for a
fixed measure product with
the same Item Reference
Number. GS1 US Data Hub |
Product counts this as two
GTINs against your prefix
capacity. (GS1 US Data Hub |
Product will prevent you from
doing this when creating new
products.)
If you wish to keep both the variable
measure GTIN and the fixed measure
GTIN in use, you will need to replace the
GTIN on one of the two products.
I just logged into GS1 US
Data Hub | Product for the
first time and I have Draft
products already. How did
that happen?
Some of your Reserved
GTINs that were transferred
from Data Driver had other
data in their records. To
make sure we preserved your
inputs, we imported those
GTINs as Draft, with Brand
and/or Description set to
Undefined”.
If you don’t need that data, click the
Unassign button directly under the GTIN
then delete the Draft record.
My company’s name is
being shared with other
companies and I don’t
want it shared.
This is the default state.
If you do not wish for your company’s
name to show up in searches for
“Products Not Shared”, ask your Product
Administrator to uncheck the “Display
Company Information and Allow Access
Requests for Products Not Shared” box.
