December3,2015meeting.Themotionpassedunanimously.
OldBusiness
 Lisadescribedtheprocessofputtingtogetherthenewwebsite.Sheaskedfor
businessdescriptionsfromeachboardmember,andwillextendthattotheentire
membership.
 ThewebsitewillbepreviewedattheAnnualMeetingonJanuary12.Shewillbe
askingforhelpfromthemembership.Itwillbefullyfunctionalbythenbutwillnot
beafinishedproduct.
 Sarahsuggestedthatthenewwebsite,especiallythecontenthighlighting
businesses,couldbeavaluabletoolforrecruitingnewmembers.
 LisaandSarahwouldliketohaveaclearplaceforprospectivememberstogotoin
ordertofindouttheadvantagesofmembership.
 TheAnnualMeetingisJanuary12atAurum.LisaaskedthateachBoardMemberto
take5invitationpostcardsandmakesuretogivethemto5communitybusiness
members.Theinvitationscanbepostedonfacebook.
 Sarahaskedifanyonerepresentedthemountainonourboard.Wearerepresented
attheChamberbyKathyStokesandShoshannaRandellfromOneSteamboatPlace
doesournewsletter.
 Lisaisstilltryingtocomeupwithanameforthevolunteerambassadorprogram.
Ideasarewelcomingcommittee,guides,hosts…,butthe“ambassador”namecannot
beusedastheChamberusesit.Theywillbedispersinginformationaboutthe
downtown,aswellascleaninguplitterandstickers,etc.Partnershipsare
important.KellyremindedeveryonethatHorizonsMikeDwyerusedtohavea
clean‐upprogram.Heshouldbecontactedaboutthisnewinitiative.Rocky
MountainYouthCorpsisanotherpossiblepartnership.
NewBusiness
 LisahandedouttheBoardOfficerJobDescriptionstoeveryonepresent.She
reviewedtheresponsibilitiesoftheofficersandoftheindividualmembers,
emphasizingthenecessitythatmembershelpherwithrecruitmentandfundraising.
ItiscrucialthatBoardMembersunderstandwhatisexpectedofthemandthatthey
understandtheMainStreetmission.
 Lisaaskedthatasmanyboardmembersaspossibleviewthewebinarsthatare
availableforMainStreetboardmembers.Newboardmembersweregiventhe
MainStreethandbook.
 AllBoardmemberswereaskedtoreadandsigntheMainStreetSteamboatBoard
MemberCommitment.The“draft”designationatthetopshouldbecrossedout.
 DowntownImprovements—
1. Thecitycouncilisdiscussingthistopictonight.Theywillbediscussing
timelinesandgoalsfortheentiredowntownimprovements,including
YampaStreet,OakStreet,andLincolnAve.Informationisintheon‐line
councilpacket.
2. OnJanuary21from4‐6PM,atthefirehousedowntowntherewillbea
CommunityOpenHousetodiscusstheplanningfortheYampaStreet
improvements.LisaisaskingthatBoardMembersbecomeinvolvedinthis
initiative.
3. Ablock‐by‐block,propertybypropertysidewalkevaluationhasbeendone
sothattherearen’tconflictswithredevelopmentwherenewsidewalkshave
beenputin.
4. PhilArmstrongbroughtuptheproblemswithsnowremoval.Everyone
agreedthattherewereissuesgiventhemassiveamountofsnowthatfellina
shortperiodoftime.Plowingcouldbeimprovedasitimpactssidewalk
clearing.
 SarahaskedifalistofMainStreetmemberscouldbesenttoBoardMemberssothey
knowwhomtorecruit.Lisasaidthatshecouldsendlastyear’smembersbutasof
thefirstoftheyear,everymemberisanewmemberandshewillsendoutthat
noticeassoonasitiscompiled.
 TherewillbealistattheAnnualMeetingforBoardMemberstosignupfor
volunteerpositions.
 TheelectionofnewBoardMemberswillbeheldattheAnnualMeetingonJanuary
12.

unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:04 AM.
The Annual MainStreet Steamboat Springs Membership Meeting is on Tuesday,
January 12, 2016 at Aurum from 12-1:30 PM. Doors open at 11:30 AM.
