Online Document Storage (2.5 hours) Short Description: Save your documents from any computer with an Internet connection by storing them online. This class will cover how to set up and use Windows Live Skydrive, a free online document storage service. 11. Storing your documents online: (2.5 hours) 11.1: Beginners Guide to Windows Live Skydrive (Handout Created by AFN) How to Train this section: Important: Prior to beginning the class you will need to have all paperwork and handouts printed. Also, any first time students will need to fill out the one-time Class registration and Demographics forms, and all students and volunteers are required to sign in. Distribute the “What you will know” pre-assessment, have your student’s fill it out, and pick it up when ready. This assessment is intended merely as a gauge of what your students know prior to reviewing the section (you may need to reassure some this is not a test). To address the needs of your student who may have large files to back up without a USB drive, distribute the handout “Beginner’s guide to Windows Live Skydrive”, which explains the process of setting up a Windows Live ID using your Gmail address, verifying the account, as well as the process of uploading and downloading files. You will need to read aloud and discuss the handout prior to having your students set up their accounts. Once the accounts have been established, project a sample account to demonstrate the process of uploading and downloading files. Have your students practice these skills using the sample files in the Windows 7 documents library (formerly known as “My Documents” in Windows XP). Following Lesson 11.1, distribute the post assessment “What you know now”. Explain that this is not a test and that the purpose of this exercise is to aid the trainers in finding areas in which each student might need more attention. Distribute the class evalutation for your students to complete (including the date and instructor’s name.) Finally, present the class certificates to your students. End.
