Sgt Lienemann entered the United States Marine Corps on

1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division deployed to Korea.
After less than three months in combat Sgt Lienemann and
his entire patrol were killed on a night mission. US hostilities ceased in Korea at the end of July, 1953. The 38th

Map of The Furthest Advances
by North Korea and China
A Seesaw War
1The North Korean invaders pushed the South Korea and
American reinforcements south to Pusan. (August 5-September, 1950)
2 Landing at Inchon (September 15, 1950)
March 10, 1953
3 UN troops counterattacked and drove toward the Chinese
border at the Yalu River. (November 24, 1950)
4 China came to the aid of the North Koreans and forced the
allies back to South Korea. (January 24, 1951)
5 Finally, another American and UN counteroffensive
pushed the Chinese and North Koreans north to the 38th
