Thank you for your interest in the Katy ISD Summer Orchestra Camp! We are very excited
about your participation in our camp and we know you will benefit both educationally and
socially. We offer this camp to provide an economical and convenient alternative to those
that may not have had an opportunity to attend another orchestra camp this summer due to
scheduling and/or costs. As a participant in this camp you will have the opportunity to learn
from some of the best orchestra directors in the area while developing self-confidence,
responsibility, discipline, coordination, dexterity, self-expression and many other valuable skills
that will help you throughout your life, inside and outside of your musical career. Orchestra is
a group activity and provides the opportunity for students to develop cooperation, unity and
teamwork. No other activity offers you, the student, so many opportunities to become a
leader, team player, citizen, and musician while gaining a better understanding and
appreciation for one of human kinds’ greatest gifts——MUSIC!

Medical Release
Information
MUSIC IS...
Music is a Science... It is exact, specific,
and it demands precise statistics.
Each child must have a completed medical release on file with his/her orchestra director that
will be sent to the camp administrators for use in
case of emergency. If we do not receive one for
your child a form will be mailed to you with your
camp schedule. Be sure to complete the form
and bring it with you on the first day of the
camp.
Please note: Any daily medicines that need to
be taken is the responsibility of the camper or
parent/guardian of the student.

the subdivisions of time into fractions
