Dear Friends of the Unicorns:
Don’t miss the biggest Baseball event of the season on Thursday 23 June 2016 when your
Unicorns host the 3-time College World Series appearing Johns Hopkins Blue Jays (NCAA
Division III) for an exhibition match against an All-Star Unicorns team at Rony field in
Hünenberg.
On hand will be Jonas Fester, the former Head Coach of the Unicorns, and the Head
Coach of the Blue Jays, Bob Babb.
Coach Babb has taken the Blue Jays to the College World Series three times and, with
1,012 wins and a .730 winning record with the Blue Jays over 35 seasons, is one of the
winningest coaches in college baseball.
Also joining us will be former Major League Baseball pitcher and friend to the Unicorns
Paul Hartzell. Paul pitched over 700 innings in the Major Leagues for the California
Angels, the Minnesota Twins, the Baltimore Oriels, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Paul also
holds the distinction of being the only pitcher to have collected two wins in a single Major
League Baseball double-header.
What Unicorns event would be complete without burgers, bratwurst, and, most importantly,
beer? Rest assured, the grill will be fired up, the on-field Kiosk will be fully stocked, and
your Unicorns will be suited up and ready to play.
Your Unicorns need fan support more than ever. The Blue Jays are traveling with their
own fans and we expect their group to be more than 60 people. Let’s not let them drown
out the local team!
The grill and Kiosk open at 16:30, and first pitch is scheduled for 18:00.
Following the game join the Unicorns and the Blue Jays for tall beers and tall baseball
tales at our Kiosk, and then follow us all to a special reception at long-time sponsor of the
Unicorns, the Mr. Pickwick Pub in Zug, where the Blue Jays will drink in order to prepare
for their games in Zürich for the Swiss International Alpine Cup on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday June 24-26th.
Don’t miss this chance to make new baseball friends (and rivals). We look forward to
seeing you there.
Remember, always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn, then always be a Unicorn.
