First was Bowlero Lakeville, formerly Brunswick Zone XL, located at 11129 162nd Street. Bowlero Lakeville has been rebranded and underwent some extensive remodeling. State of the City The public is invited to attend the annual State of the City presentation on Wednesday, April 12 at City Hall. Light refreshments will be served at 7:30 a.m., followed by a presentation by Mayor Doug Anderson and City Administrator Justin Miller beginning at 8 a.m. Interstate PowerSystems A temporary certificate of occupancy was recently issued for Interstate PowerSystem's new 82,000 square-foot truck maintenance facility located at County Road 70 and Highview Avenue. Rick Howden Takes a New Position Rick Howden, Economic Development Specialist for the City of Lakeville, has recently accepted a position as a Senior Project Manager for the City of St. Paul's Planning and Economic Development Department. Rick has been a key staff person for Lakeville's economic development efforts for the past three years and the City has benefitted greatly as a result. Good luck, Rick, in your new endeavor! Building Permit Report The City has issued building permits with a total valuation of $49,775,502 through March. This compares to a total valuation of $27,048,911 for building permits issued through March of 2016. The City issued commercial and industrial permits with a total valuation of $1,090,500 through March compared to a total valuation of $2,344,000 during the same period in 2016. The City has issued permits for 103 single-family homes through March with a total valuation of $33,092,000. This compares to 57 single-family home permits through March of 2016 with a total valuation of $17,793,000. The City also issued permits for 7 townhome units through March with a total valuation of $1,778,000. This compares to 14 townhome permits issued through March of 2016 with a total valuation of $3,315,000. Through March, the City has issued the highest number of residential permits in the metro area according to the Builders Association of Twin Cities.
