FINDING RESOURCES IN DESTINY
Step 1: Accessing and Logging Into Destiny

-Access Destiny from the Media Center Home Page
-Select Northvale Public School
You must now Login to Destiny
-Click on login tab in upper right hand corner
-Enter your username and password
Username:
your last name plus first initial
Password:
northvale
Step 2: Creating a Resource List
On the Catalog Screen, look at the list of options listed on the
left and click on Resources Lists (left menu)
-Everyone will automatically have a Personal List.
-You will need to create a NEW Resource List.
-Locate the Add List tab (top right of screen) and click on
the clipboard icon. Create new list named Research Paper
and click save.
Step 3: Searching WebPath Express in Destiny
On the Catalog Screen, look at the list of options listed on the
left and click on Library Search.
-Enter your topic terms to conduct a keyword search.
The first result you will see are books we have in the
library on your topic.
To access WebPath Express, click on website tab in the upper
right hand corner.
-Above your results list you will see different parameters
you may set to assist in your search. In this box, locate
Selected List pull down option. Make sure you have your
list set to Research Paper.
Step 4: Search Results in WebPath Express/ Adding Resources to
Your List
Review your search results in WebPath Express. When you find
a resource that may be useful for your project, you may add it
the Research Paper List you previously created.
-Go back to list of results, locate it and click on Add to this
List (look for green check mark).
-Use this process to add as many resources as you want to
your list.
Step 5: Populated Resource Lists/Citations
On the Catalog Screen, look at the list of options listed on the
left and click on Resources Lists (left menu)
-Click on your Research Paper List and click on the view
tab.
-Click on the websites tab in the upper right hand corner.
For each resource, you have the option of creating a citation for
it or removing it.
-To create a citation for your resource, click on the citation
tab and then click save.
-Scroll to bottom of screen, locate Citation List, and click
go. This will give you a list of citations for your resources in
*MLA format.
*The Modern Language Association (MLA) establishes values
for acknowledging sources used in a research paper.
