Hershey’s Tour / Gettysburg Battlefield
Awake today in one of the most historical places in America. A local expert will
guide us around the “Birthplace of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Hear the stories of our founding fathers and see the places where patriots
declared their independence, where the first Continental Congress met,
and where the US Constitution was written and signed. Visit Independence
National Historical Park, “America’s most historic square mile”, to see things
like Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall, or the National Constitution
Center. The balance of the afternoon is set aside for you to explore on your
own. Meals: B
Journey to the town of Hershey, PA for a trip through a world of chocolate.
Learn the saga of Milton Hershey’s chocolate empire with a visit to Hershey’s
Chocolate World. Continue on to Gettysburg, where occurred the greatest
battle ever fought on the continent, and one of the most decisive battles in
world history. Tour with a National Park guide and learn why Gettysburg
Battlefield is the most visited, most written about, and most intensely studied
battle scene ever. Meals: B, D

Day 4 - Fri, Oct 20
Shenandoah Nat’l Park
Enjoy the scenery as we motor south past Harper’s Ferry to the town of Front
Royal. From here the road leads us into Shenandoah National Park. Climb to
the ridge lines of the Blue Ridge Mountains and follow the famous Skyline
Drive as you meander through a landscape filled with the color of an autumn
season. A stop for lunch will be included at a park lodge. Continue to enjoy
spectacular vistas as we finish our mountaintop journey and descend into the
valley. Our home for tonight will be Charlottesville, VA. Meals: B, L, D

Day 6 - Sun, Oct 22
Shenandoah Nat’l Park, VA
Day 5 - Sat, Oct 21
Monticello / Colonial Williamsburg
Sitting on a hilltop overlooking Charlottesville is Monticello, home to our third
President, Thomas Jefferson. Designed and redesigned, and built and rebuilt for
more than forty years, it serves as his autobiography and is today a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. Tour the home and the gardens. Lunch today is at Michie
Tavern, where hearty midday fare has been served since 1784. Our afternoon
drive will bring us to Williamsburg, VA for a two night stay. Meals: B, L
Colonial Williamsburg Tour
Located on 173 acres, Colonial Williamsburg is the restored capitol of the
Virginia Colony. Not just a museum of restored buildings and artifacts, it is an
outdoor living community where merchants sell their wares, craftspeople ply
their trades, and brave patriots whisper plans for revolution. Perhaps nowhere
else in America does the exciting story of our past come to life more vividly
than in Colonial Williamsburg. This morning we enlist the aid of local guides
for a walking tour in the restoration. The afternoon will be set aside for you to
continue exploring this fascinating place on your own. Tonight, gather for a
dinner party to celebrate the great week we have shared. Meals: B, D
Day 7 - Mon, Oct 23
Travel Home
Soon our trip will conclude when we transfer to our awaiting flight at the
Richmond International Airport. Travel home this afternoon with rich
memories of your visit to some of our nation’s greatest heritage, history, and
landmarks. Meals: B
