Target House During the first of February 2013, the Ponca City Rifle and Pistol Club completed work to secure a new target house. Two years ago, a violent windstorm caused damage to both the 50-‐yard and 100-‐yard rifle ranges, which included destruction of our existing target house and its contents. Providing targets and other items for the convenience of club members in exchange for donations to help defray expense, has been a long time benefit for members. After discussion on how best to construct or replace the old target house, club member John Steele was successful in securing a suitable structure for club use. Donated by John’s employer, the McJunkin-‐ Redman Company provided the 8X6 foot portable building at no cost. McJunkin-‐Redman is an onsite supplier of pipe valves and fittings for Ponca City’s Phillips Oil Refinery. Club members Al Ritter, Bert Blanton and Bob Parker purchased, at club expense, new shelving and installed it while organizing and stocking with a variety of club use targets. A larger steel conex style cargo container is also on site for the purpose of storing competition targets and equipment. According to PCR&P Club President Shawn Rexford, “We are happy to once more return target supplies to our members who frequent the range for the purpose of informal range use. We see this effort to improve our range as another step to also improving membership benefits.” News Release prepared by Al Ritter
