Althoughnoneofourstudentswereinvolved,Ineedtomakeyouawareofanincidentthattookplacenear
ourcampusFridayevening.
AnaltercationinvolvingseveralteenagegirlsbrokeoutFridayeveningintheneighborhoodnearourcampus.
Astheincidentescalated,itspilledoverontoourschooltrack,whichiskeptopenforcommunityuse.
Authoritieswerenotifiedimmediately,andtheHoustonPoliceDepartmentisinvestigating.
Pleaseknowwetakethesesituationsveryseriously,asthesafetyofourschoolcommunityisalwaysour
absolutetoppriority.Thoughthisincidentdidn’tstartonourcampusorinvolveanyofourstudents,wehave
askedHISDPolicetoassignextraofficerstopatrolourcampusandsurroundingneighborhoodasa
precautionarymeasure.
Iwanttoassureyouthatyourstudentsaresafe,andschoolisproceedingasnormal,withteachingand
learningcontinuing,uninterrupted.
