CompetitionwillbeattheHPERFitnessCenteronthebasketballcourtsonSaturday, March11th,2017beginningat12:00p.m.untilcompleted. 2. Weigh-inwillbeonFriday,March10thfrom5pm-8pm.Weigh-intimeswillbebased onpredictedweightclassandwillbeannouncedatalaterdate.Pleasepayclose attentiontoemailsforthisannouncement.Ifyouarenotherefortheweigh-inyou willnotbeabletocompete. 3. Onceyourliftisoveryouwillleavetheplatform,andafteryoureventisoveryouleave thestagingarea.Starttimesforeachweightclasswillbeannouncedclosertothe eventdate.Pleasepaycloseattentiontoemailsforthisannouncement. 4. Eachcompetitorisallowedthreeattempts.Theoverallwinnerandthewinners withineachweightclasswillbedeterminedutilizingtheSchwartz/MaloneFormula. Iftwoliftersregisterthesamebodyweightattheweighinandeventuallyachievethe sametotalattheendofthecompetition,theliftermakingthetotalfirstwilltake precedenceovertheotherlifter. 5. Arguingwiththejudgeswillnotbetolerated,youwillbeaskedtoleaveandyouwill bewithdrawnfromthecompetition. EQUIPMENT Allequipmentinthiscompetitionisutilizedfromthe HPERweightroom. WEIGHINGIN Friday,March10,2017Time:TBA OutsideEquipmentAllowed: Wristwraps;gloves;weightbelts Youmustweighinwearingtheclothes youwillcompetein. Equipmentnotallowed: Liftingsuits;theuseofoil,greaseorother lubricantsonthebody,orpersonalequipmentis strictlyforbidden;theuseofanyformofadhesive ontheundersideoffootwearisstrictlyforbidden. Noforeignsubstancesmaybeappliedto powerliftingequipment. Bepreparedtosignawaiverand receivefurtherinstructionsupon registrationandoncompetitionday. BENCHPRESS - The lifter must lie on his/her back with head, shoulders and buttocks in contactwiththebenchsurface.Thefeetmustbeflatonthefloor(asflatas theshapeoftheshoewillallow).His/herhandsandfingersmustgripthe bar positioned in the rack stands with thumbs around grip. This position shallbemaintainedthroughoutthelift. - For those who are vertically challenged, use of weight plates under their feetisallowed. - Notmorethanfiveandnotlessthantwospotter/loadersshallbeonthe platform at anytime. After correctly positioning himself, the lifter may enlistthehelpofthespotter/loadersinremovingthebarfromtheracks. Theliftoffifassistedbythespotter/loadersmustbeatarmslength. - Theuseofthereversegripisforbidden. COMMANDS - Start: After removing the bar from the racks, with or without the help of the spotter / loaders, the lifter shall wait with elbows locked for the Referee’s signal. The signal shall be given as soon as the lifter is motionlessandthebarproperlypositioned.Forreasonsofsafetythelifter will be requested to “Re-place” the bar, together with a backward movement of the arm, if after a period of five seconds he is not in the correctpositionto beginthelift.TheRefereewillthenconveythereason whythesignalwasnotgiven.Thesignaltobegintheattemptshallconsist ofadownwardmovementofthearmtogetherwiththeaudiblecommand. - Press:Theliftermustlowerthebartothechest(thechest,forthepurpose of the rule, finishes at the base of the sternum breastbone), hold it motionless on the chest, after which the Chief referee will signal the audiblecommand. - Rack:Theliftermustthenreturnthebartoarmslengthwithnoexcessive /immoderateunevenextensionofthearms.Whenheldmotionlessinthis position the audible command shall be given together with a backward motionofthearm. CAUSES FOR DISQUALIFICATION 1. FailuretoobservetheChiefReferee’ssignalsatthecommencement,during orcompletionofthelift. 2. Anychangeintheelectedliftingpositionduringtheliftproperi.e.any raisingmovementofthehead,shoulders,orbuttocks,fromthebench,or movementofthefeetonthefloor/blocks/plates/orlateralmovement ofhandsonthebar. 3. Heaving,orsinkingthebarintothechestafteritismotionlessinsucha wayastomakethelifteasier. 4. Anypronounced/exaggeratedunevenextensionofthearmsduringthe lift. 5. Anydownwardmovementofthebarinthecourseofbeingpressedout. 6. Failuretopressthebartofullextensionofthearmsatthecompletionof thelift. 7. Contactwiththebarorthelifterbythespotter/loadersbetweentheChief Referee’ssignals,inordertomakethelifteasier. 8. Anycontactofthelifter’sfeetwiththebenchoritssupports. 9. Deliberatecontactbetweenthebarandthebarrestssupport. 10.Barisnotloweredtochesti.e.notreachingthechestoristouchingthe abdominal 11.area. 12.Arguingwiththejudgeswillnotbetolerated,youwillbeaskedtoleave andyouwillbewithdrawnfromthecompetition.
