Science News:
We have been busy this week reviewing ecosystems in our world. We have covered tundra, grasslands, forest, rainforest, desert, and water
ecosystems. Later in our week we learned about the flow of energy in an ecosystem. We learned about producers, consumers, and decomposers
and the three types of consumers: herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore. It will be very important to study and know the meanings of all these
vocabulary words. We played "Quiz, Quiz, Trade" to determine animal diets and a "Find Someone Who" for producers, consumers, and
decomposers. Food chains and webs were our focus at the end of the week, and we viewed a United Streaming clip to show the food chain in
action. Next week, we will be wrapping up this unit and completing a study guide together. We have scheduled our next summative assessment
for Tuesday, October 21st. Watch planner for more details.
Social Studies News:
Because our Science work took much of our class time this week, we took a little break from our Social Studies text. We'll pick up where we left off
next week as we wrap up our chapter about land regions in Missouri. Our next chapter is "The First People" and we'll explore Native Americans in
Missouri.
