Ryan welcomes Governor Mike Pence to address the House
Republican Conference
“Mike is a great friend and a true conservative, and I’m grateful that he’s
coming to rally our members down the homestretch.”
Washington, DC – Governor Mike Pence, Donald Trump’s Vice Presidential nominee,
confirmed that he will speak to the House Republican Conference on the morning of
Tuesday, September 13th. Governor Pence accepted the invitation of Speaker Paul
Ryan and other House leaders to address Republican members with 9 weeks to go
before the presidential election.
Speaker Paul Ryan offered the following statement in advance of the meeting: “Earlier
this year, Donald Trump spoke to the House Republican conference and had a
productive conversation with our members. We’re glad to welcome his running mate
and our former colleague, Governor Mike Pence, to do the same. Mike Pence is a great
friend and a true conservative, and I’m grateful that he’s coming to rally our members
down the homestretch.
“Mike has added tremendous value to Donald Trump’s campaign and House
Republicans are excited to learn more about their plans to succeed in November and
get our nation back on track.”
Of note, Speaker Ryan introduced Governor Mike Pence at the Republican National
Convention in Cleveland and praised Donald Trump’s selection of Pence in July.
