The Crosby Youth Services Center is looking for volunteers to help with our
“Make the Connection: High School, College and Career Mentoring Program” for all 7th grade students. Would you be interested in being a Mentoring Volunteer? We need you to meet with students and help them
identify a positive pathway through high school and college to their desired
career choice. In other words…Make the Connection! Or would you rather
help the effort as a Support Volunteer (welcome, sign-in, directions, escort
etc.)?
Each volunteer option requires at least a 1hour commitment for any given
day (8a-12p):

Honor Roll
We had 745 students earn a 3.5 or higher GPA the first grading period.
Over 300 of those earned a 4.0 (see page 2). All honor roll students received a coupon for a free taco from Taco Bell. We are so proud of our students!

Crosby, Where Golf Champions are Made
This past weekend, the Crosby golf team took first place to become the champions in the JCPS Cup.
Matti Spaulding also placed 2nd overall in the girls’ division. Congratulations to these students on their

after 2 PM. Due to traffic and dismissal procedures in the building it is difficult for the office to coordinate any early dismissals after 2 PM. We appreciate your consideration in this matter.

The following students auditioned for and were selected to participate in the Kentucky ACDA (American
Choral Director’s Association) Fall Conference Honor Choir! They will join talented singers from across
the state for two days of rehearsals and a concert at the end of the month in Bowling Green. Congratulations to sixth grade students Sydney Adams, Lily Arnette, Melanny Sanjuan, and Ellie Spalding, and to
seventh grader Joseph Wood!

Crosby Girls Lacrosse Information
Crosby Girls Lacrosse will host their parent meeting on Wednesday 11/2 from 6:30-7:30 in the library. This meeting is for all parents of players wishing to play girls lacrosse this year. It is very important that a parent attends as we will have forms to sign, jersey numbers to assign, and information to
discuss regarding the season. Our pre-season training, which is 1x/week, will start 11/28. The official
girls lacrosse season runs from mid-February to May. There will be a sign-up sheet for NEW PLAYERS
ONLY on Mr. Durbin’s door this week. We are looking forward to a successful season!!
Great Job Cross-Country Team
Last week, our Cross Country team nearly swept the City Championships with 1st place finishes in the
6th, 7th and 8th Grade Girls races, and in the 7th and 8th Grade Boys races!
Outstanding performances were many:
- Katie Tan, Gianna Zamborini, and Maggie Jewell finished 5th, 6th and 8th respectively for the 6th grade
girls team.
- Timothy Wagoner finished 7th in the 6th grade boys race.
- Courtney Sandy, Amelia Beach, and Emily Bird finished 3rd, 6th, and 8th for the 7th grade girls.
- Wade Balcom and Trae Burns placed 2nd and 3rd in their race.
- Megan Gullett and Payton Carns placed 2nd and 3rd for the 8th grade girls.
- Quint Smaldone, James Hoetker and Callahan Schadt finished 2nd, 4th and 5th for the 8th grade boys.
