Joint and sport surgery – your mobility is our top priority

Your Centre for Joint and Sport Surgery
Joint and Sport Surgery
Your mobility is our top priority
Expertise That You Can Trust
The average age of the population is
constantly increasing. We all have an indisputable basic need to remain active
and free of pain throughout our lives.
Maintaining physical well-being ensures a
high quality of life and the retention of
mobility and independence. In the course
of life there may be many causes for
musculoskeletal problems: in active
young people, these are most frequently
caused by sports injuries. In later years
they may be due to illness, accidents
or wear and tear on the joints (arthrosis).
This can mean that joint-conserving
operations (e.g., arthroscopy or cartilage
replacement) or the complete replacement of a joint with a joint prosthesis may
be necessary.
Gentle operating techniques and rapid
mobility
Our motto at the Centre for Joint and
Sport Surgery is “Your mobility is our top
priority.” Our goal is always to offer
you the most effective yet gentlest treatment with the least pain and the fastest
recovery possible. Today, a range of
minimally invasive and computer-aided
surgical techniques are available for this
purpose as complements to conservative
therapies. They facilitate rapid restoration of the original function and mobility.
Early mobilisation and doing without
immobilising bandages, splints or casts
are crucial in this regard. Our treatment
team includes specially trained physiotherapists who carry out the follow-up
treatment in consultation with the
specialists treating you. With regard to
implants and joint prostheses, we use
high-quality, well-tolerated products
corresponding to the state-of-the-art in
science and technology.
Specialists with extensive experience
Our specialists have many years of experience in joint and sport surgery and
are internationally renowned in this field.
Knowing the negative consequences of
postponing treatment for acute and chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system,
we ensure timely, expert consultation and
treatment without delay. Each patient
receives individualised care from his or
her specialist. Through mutual assistance
and cover during absence, patients
can contact a well-informed expert at the
centre at any time.

Anaesthesia and pain therapy
Every surgical procedure carries a certain
amount of risk, which your doctor will
explain to you beforehand in detail.
Thanks to the anaesthetic options available today, the surgery will proceed with
optimal comfort. Small procedures can
sometimes be performed under local
anaesthetic, while larger operations are
carried out under very safe and well-tolerated general anaesthesia. The latest
analgesics provide rapid relief from pain
after the operation.
