CONSULTATION / FILE HANDLING
If you are unable to prepare files for printing, we are happy to help. Please call our staff to arrange a convenient time for us both, to
assist with cropping / converting your files to your requirements.
Retouching Consultation $80 per half hour (minimum charge)
File Handling Consultation $33 per half hour - (minimum charge $10 for 5 minutes)

Some things to consider prior to a consultation . . .
** Staff at the front counter may not always be able to stop and download or prepare files as you wait without prior notice.
** To reduce consultation times, it may be to your benefit to cull your images to the ones required for printing. If you have a holiday of 1200 images,
only bring in the ones that you need.
** If you are planning on using store bought frames, work out in advance what sizes are available and what size you think you might want. We can then
let you know if your image will work in that frame - eg. what cropping may be required or if the file is too small for the frame size chosen.

Whether you need us to scan a 35mm negative, or make a digital copy of a piece of artwork, we can do it all.
We price depending on the resolution required, and which device is used, so film scanners for negatives and slides, and flatbed or
Hasselblad camera for prints and artwork copies. No colour correction or retouching is normally applied, so ask for a quote if you require
retouching spotting. See our website for more information about the scanners and quality. Minimum Charge $10.00.

Digital files printed directly to canvas
There are two choices of canvas printing. The first is a high quality ink cotton canvas print. This printing method still has the edge in
image quality and colour tone, and once varnished with a protective coating, are durable and scratch resistant. If you are reproducing
original artwork to the highest quality, then Artist Canvas is the one for you. Stretched around a high quality frame and wire hung.
The second option is a commercial grade canvas, that comes with protective varnish for durability and scratch resistance. While not as
high quality as the Cotton Artists Canvas it is printed on the same machine. It also can be stretched around a high quality frame and
is wire hung.
If you need a canvas reproducing from any format other than digital, we will need to charge for an additional scanning/copying service.
Additional charges may apply if file is insufficiently prepared for canvas stretching. Cost will vary depending on individual images.

In more recent years, film users have requested changes to our film services, and we have listened.
We now offer a ‘Process Only’ service as standard, then all services are based on scanning and then printing from the resulting files. So
if you want a standard colour film printed 6x4, then you also receive a Disc with a ‘Frontier Proof Scan’ of each frame.
An example of how you would calculate the cost of one roll of film with 6x4 inch prints :

ENLARGEMENTS & RE-PRINTS
For larger prints from film we will treat the job as a scan + digital photographic print.
So firstly find the quality of scan from our scanning price list, and then add a Photographic Print. The scan must be the same size or
larger than the final print size.
The advantage of this system is that you can have more prints from the scan without having to pay for the scan again. Just re-submit
the scan/file for a print only service.

Re-usable Hinged Matt
A hinged matt is backing card with a hinged Matt attached. The print is tacked in place between the two, so you can open and replace
the print later. Not to be used for permanent framing or display, as the print may ripple over time.
Minimum order of $10, and discounts are available on large orders, ask our sales team for an individual quote.
Permanent Sealed Matt
A sealed matt is produced by permanently mounting the print to card and then gluing the matt over the print. Both card and matte are
trimmed flush to each other, making it almost impossible to get to the print without damage.
