BOOK OF THE MONTH:
The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch,
Volume One: At the Edge of Empire by Daniel Kraus
"Let us begin with this: I am seventeen years old. And also this: I have been seventeen
years old for over a century." Huckleberry Finn by way of Frankenstein, Zebulon Finch is a
novel that isn't much about the plot but the unique characters and situations encountered
along the way. From traveling medicine shows, to turn of the century Boston, to the
underbelly of Prohibition-era New York, you have never seen an America like this.
Although marketed as a teen book, stylistically, thematically, and content-wise Zebulon
Finch is very adult and very dark. An unputdownable doorstop of a book, a second volume
is on the way, but not nearly soon enough.
