About Huayun Orchestra
Dedicated to Sino-American cultural exchange, the Huayun Chinese
Orchestra is initiated and sponsored by the Confucius Institute of the
University of Texas at Dallas. It has become the most prominent Chinese
music troupe in the DFW area. Mainly composed of amateur musicians,
the band features a variety of traditional Chinese instruments. Since
2012, the Orchestra has performed in such diverse venues as The Crow
Collection of Asian Art and the Plano Asian American Heritage Festival.
This is the 3rd annual show under the auspices of the UTD Confucius
Institute, the previous two shows being Song of Cathay and Four Seasons
of China.
In early 2015, the Huayun Orchestra co-hosted and played an ensamble
with the Houston Chinese Orchestra in Houston at the Philia Theater.
About BNU Art Troupe
The Beijing Normal University Art Troupe highlights the cultivation of
Beijing Normal University students’ comprehensive qualities and gives
full play to their artistic talents. The Troupe consists of the HarmonyElegance Chamber Orchestra and Youth Dawnce Troupe. Presented by
students in their prime, the creative performances integrate classical and
modern elements and demonstrates the tradition-based and presentminded artistic style of the Troupe.
The Troupe has performed in the United States, Italy, Canada, Denmark,
Sweden and other countries winning great acclaim from local audiences.
