The Aurelia City Council met in special session on May 8, 2017. Mayor Suhr
brought meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
with roll call as follows:
Council Members Present: Redig,
Nelson, Stroud, Johnson, Baker, Suhr.

Redig made motion to open public
hearing – “Amending Code of Ordinances, Chapter 17.02(7) Setting
Compensation for Elected Officers,”
second by Johnson. Roll call vote “aye”

Nelson. Motion carried 4-1.
Brielle Kolpin, Pool Manager, met with
Council to review Pool Employee Manual
and discuss issues and concerns from
last season. Pool is scheduled to open
Memorial Weekend.
Pool hours were discussed and will

Reviewed Harmon Masonry bid in
amount of $2,970.00 to lay 6” block
for shower stalls at pool house and received a verbal bid from Hatch Masonry
in amount of $1,650.00 to lay 6” block

from Hatch Masonry in the amount of
$1,650.00, after receipt of bid on paper
and reviewed by Sangwin, second by
Baker. All members present voting “aye”

Notice is hereby given that all objections to the petition for the reorganization of the Alta Community School District and the Aurelia Community School
District must be filed in the Office of the
Administrator of Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency, 500 NE 6th Street, P.O.
Box 802, Pocahontas, Iowa, 50574,
no later than 12 o’clock Noon on June
19, 2017. Objections must be in writing
in the form of an affidavit and may be
made by any person residing on or owning land within the territory described in
the petition or by any person who would
be injuriously affected by the change
petitioned for. Objection forms may be
obtained from the office of the Administrator of Prairie Lakes Area Education
Agency, 500 NE 6th Street, P.O. Box
