Sending your child to Summer Camp at Black Rock Retreat will be
the best decision you’ll make all year, but don’t take our word for it.
Experience:
(My daughter) came home ON FIRE for the Lord! She was encouraged to reach out to
her peers and share the gospel. She has continued to sing the songs she learned at
camp, do her devotional every night and read her bible. It was another GREAT year at
Black Rock! Thank you all for answering the Lord’s calling, he is working in BIG ways!!
My heart rejoices when I think about my boys’ experiences at Black Rock! I find myself
telling everyone I know how amazing this camp is! THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT
YOU DO WITH EXCELLENCE!
(My son) is very anxious but felt immediately comfortable. This was his first week
away and he wasn’t ever homesick. He was very sad to leave at the end of the week!!!
Thank you for this amazing, life- changing experience! He will be back next year as
well as his sister!
Grow:
(My daughter) did not go to camp with a bible, but came home with one. She doesn’t
want to put it down. She loves the devotions booklet that she received. Something
happened to (her) while she was at BRR -- she’s changed, in a good way. She
developed a very special bond with her counselors and did not want to leave on Friday
evening.
She was especially influenced by the camp counselors, their guidance and
shepherding helped her to see the kind of young woman that she wants to be “when
she grows up”!
Both of my boys just adored their counselors. Both counselors really poured into each
of them in lasting ways. Many tears were shed on the way home! My oldest swore to
me years ago that he would never go to a sleep-away camp. When we picked him up
he didn’t want to go home!
Reconnect:
Being very intelligent, an avid reader and a love for science facts; (my son) was
questioning the Bible and God’s existence. At camp he said, “I got my faith back!” This
mom can’t be more satisfied and blessed!!!!!
I have heard so many amazing things regarding Black Rock so we were truly
comfortable and excited to have (my daughter) attend camp. It was a new
adventure for all of us. (Her) dad and I truly appreciate this opportunity for her to
gain independence, have a week communicating with her Lord, studying the Bible,
connecting with her peers and making memories. Thanks to each and every one of
you whom gives your time and talents towards this ministry.
Both (my sons) developed a deeper love for God in the Bible classes. (He) told me
that he recommitted in his belief in God and following Jesus.
