A New Elder
joins the team!
F
ormerly our head deacon, Yemi has
proven himself faithful as both a
servant and a leader. He is a steadfast
man of God, leading our prayer ministry,
which meets on a weekly basis. He has
seen our monthly body prayer meeting
grow from a handful of attendees to the
point where there are barely enough
chairs to seat everyone.
New Deacons Appointed
Ricky Grosvenor, Godwin Ogubuike and Munya
Mangundu have joined our team of faithful deacons.
Yemi and his wife Toyin are both originally from Nigeria - they have been
members of King’s Church since 2010 and together they have two daughters
- Tomi and Dara.
Ghana trip 2016
The team for the 2016 mission trip to
Ghana with Reverend Betty King will
depart on the 25th February. We pray
for a safe and fruitful trip where many
lives are changed. See the reverse of
this booklet for more information and
prayer points on the Ghana mission
trip.
King’s Conference 2016

The first weekend of April will see our long awaited
conference take place. We will welcome guest
speakers Dr Hugh Osgood, Stephen Lungu and Pastor
Vincent Harper. Check the website for further details.

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful
to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not
quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a
manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must
not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation
with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.
In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must
keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them,
let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an
excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

that they accept their new role with reverence.
Body Prayer Meeting
As the Life Groups meet together for the February prayer meeting, we pray that the Holy Spirit
will be the centre of our worship. We ask the Father that the prayer meeting will be led by the
Spirit, that there will be no distractions and that we will be thankful to the Father for all He does
this month.
Events in Ghana
While dates and times are subject to factors upon arrival, please be in prayer for the following events
that the Ghana mission’s team will be undertaking:
Speaking at schools
The team will be going into schools of various
sizes - ranging from tens of pupils to thousands
- to preach and share their testimonies. Pray that
God will give them the words to say to really
affect the students’ lives.
Visiting prisons
The team will be going to various prisons to
distribute Bibles and preach. Pray for their
protection and that the prisoners’ lives would be
transformed as they minister - that even in their
captivity, they would find true freedom in Christ.
Visiting orphanages
Pray that the team would be able to share the love
of God with the children at the orphanage and in
their words and actions, lead them to know God,
the perfect Father.
Preaching in churches
Pray that God would give the speakers a word in
season for the churches out there.
In general, pray for all those who are taking part
in the mission’s trip. Pray that God will really
move during the trip and that they will fulfil
the Father’s work in Ghana. We also pray for
protection over them on their way to and from
Ghana, and that they will be blessed for accepting
the call of God.
Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous deeds among all peoples.
